Located just south of Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, Legoland Discovery Center and the city of Tempe, Arizona Grand is a AAA Four Diamond Resort and among the Phoenix-Scottsdale area's largest golf resorts with 744 total guest rooms. Set on 164 acres, the highlight of the property is the 18-hole golf course that winds into desert foothills of the South Mountain Preserve on the back nine. Off the course, the highlight is six outdoor heated swimming pools, capped by a seven-acre water park features a water slide, lazy river and large hot tub. Arizona Grand's Athletic Club & Spa is 20,000 square feet and has 40 cardio machines and a separate free weights room, as well as 35+ weekly exercise classes and a five-lane, 20-meter adults lap pool. Arizona Grand invested $13 million into the property in 2017 that updated all guest suites and villas.Facts

One of the reviews i read said the hole # 2 is back to being par 4 the starter didn't indicate its still par 3 under construction , we played after small tournament no big delays had

How Grand it is
Staff great. Course was in very good conditions EXCEPT the bunkers. They were wet dirt. No practice range unless u wanna hit your own balls in a batting cage a half mile up the hill. Putting green was crap. No coolers but they give u a steel bucket of ice. Cart girls were around a lot and attractive. Always a plus to get your game goin! Other than that it’s a challenging course. I definitely recommend it.

The back 9 feel like a different course.
The first T box is pretty spectacular from the island uphill surrounded by all the resort rooms. It’ definitely has a stadium feel. The greens were not in great conditions but that can be expected with as many days over 100° as this course gets. The back 9 in the desert has a very different feel than the front and is very challenging to hit over washes. Each is unique and fun to play. I will definitely play it again.

Steep Hills - Cart Path Only
I love this course with many unique holes, but I took my 76 year old father and almost the entire course was roped off for cart path only access. There are a lot of steep hills and this made it extremely difficult for my dad. He ended up playing only half the holes. This warning should be posted when booking for people who can't walk up and down steep slopes.

A great Day
I was a single with a 3 some using a Hot special. I got there almost an hour early and the course was fairly empty. They let me go on as a single. I played fast, but enjoyed my time very much. Passed a few 2somes, which I appreciated. The only negative is the price of the drinks on the course. $10 for a jack and coke is really pricey. Highly recommend for course quality and layout and service.

A Tough Year
For the expense during summer play I expected better conditions, fairways had been severely impacted by the summer. Quite a bit of damage to the fairways, greens were better but not great

Not easy, but fun
The course was in pretty good shape for early September, with grass where it belonged, and sand in the bunkers. The raised tee boxes and elevated greens (many without steps, requiring a steep climb), combined with the heat, made for a good night’s sleep, but also a few added strokes from fatigue. The greens were a little fluffy and slow, but that may have been due to recent storms or the upcoming overawed. All of the staff were fantastic, but the lack of a range led to a couple of warm-up holes/shots. Overall, I’m glad we played here.

Always love this course
It was 40 percent humidity and 96 out so it was just brutal. The course condition was ok for time of year. They could use updated golf carts with coolers in them for sure. Overall a great course

Beautiful course
Loved the layout on this course. There was a lot of water but it was not overly punitive or unfair, instead it added to the scenery.
Each hole was unique and fun, you can find trouble if you are swinging wild but you can also avoid it with a little planning.
I will be playing this one again!

Don't accept the negative reviews for this course, find out for yourself
Played Arizona Grand Golf course last week and was pleasently surprised of the conditions of the course due to the long hot summer and the negative comments of recent reviews. I found the fairways and greens to be a little long but attributed that to the maintenance crew trying to keep from burning up the course (>100 degrees at 10 am). Although shown to be a 'short' course, very difficult with the blind shots and slope of the fairways and approaches. It was a fun course and worth the price. We were finished in less than 4 hours. All the staff was courteous and helpful and I will be back to try to beat the course once it cools down a little.
