Omitting information
When booking time, wasn’t informed front nine closed for maintenance and back nine open (played twice) greens plugged and sanded.
Groups stacked up (as no one knew conditions would be this way). Pro shop gal took grumpy pill.
Bright spot: a drink cart was present but left early (during our first nine). Buyer beware. Not recommended for a few weeks, say early June?
Tucson area must play
Greenvalley not far from Tucson. Canoa Ranch is a fun great layout
. Played this twice during a five night stay in Tubac . Great layout, wide fairways, Big greens.
Play this course , you will remember it it your dreams .
Undisclosed Terrible Conditions
Let me start by saying that I really like Canoa Ranch GC. The layout is challenging, varied and fun to play. BUT, the course was virtually unplayable this week. We had to play the back nine twice since they were aerating the front nine, the back nine greens were all sand and core aeration holes, the bunkers were totally devoid of ANY sand - just rocks and hard pack dirt (and ponds), the fringes were littered with the core aeration plugs. On the plus side, the tee boxes and fairways were in decent shape. I don't know where the blame lies, but none of this was disclosed on the Golf Now/Tee Off websites when I booked. The long drive down from Tucson to Green Valley was a complete waste of my time just to play a course that really should have been closed. Shame on whoever decided not to disclose the true (abysmal) condition of the course to the paying public. I'll be back since I do enjoy the course, but I'll call the course before making a booking (that oversight is on me).
Disappointed
Very disappointed when I got to the course and the back nine was closed for aeration. I understand that’s normal maintenance that’s needed for the overall health of the course. However as a paying customer I should have that knowledge before I reserve a tee time 3 days in advance. I feel this course treats “outside source” reservation customers as third class citizens. Because of customer service issues I would not recommend the course. There are many better choices that are happy to take your money with a smile and a thank you!
Great course and cheap.
All around great experiences. Great condition. Pace of play was great.
Great round of golf.
Starters were awesome. Avoid the clubhouse if at all possible. Karen is not friendly. Rude and very unprofessional to customers and her coworkers. But we did had a great round of golf.
For the price …
… it’s a worthwhile play. Could use more watering, but the track has enough interesting holes to keep your interest.
The course is in pretty good condition. Sand traps still in need of work. Need some sand!
The course has beautiful views
We have lived here for 10 years and have always enjoyed playing here.
Rude clubhouse staff
The person...Karen...checking you in for your starter tickets is the rudest person you could deal with. Rude to staff and golfers. A true problem with golfing with golfnow at the Ranch. The starters are amazing having to deal with her. She makes their jobs miserable!
Always enjoy….
The Ranch is just a fun course to play with a lot of character. Only drawback, as with most Green Valley courses is the sand traps.
Canoa Ranch
Course for most part was in great shape. Tee boxes, fairways & greens all were good. Sand traps need some love & rocks removed. The course is obviously going to get dryer as temps heat up. I always enjoy playing this course and bringing out of town guests here to show it off. I know it will be decent shape and have a good pace of play.
If they took care of their sister course as much a here,
I would consider buying the season pass. That way you have 36 holes instead of 18 to choose from.
