Located in Chandler southeast of Phoenix is the historic Crowne Plaza Phoenix-Chandler Golf Resort. This property dates back to 1912 as one of the earliest developments in Chandler and boasts the oldest grass golf course in the state of Arizona. This property on the National Registrar of Historic Places has 249 guest rooms and suites with private balconies, recently upgraded new with amenities. There is an outdoor pool and tennis courts in addition to the 18-hole golf course which was stretched to its current configuration in 1928. Guests are within easy walking distance of downtown Chandler bars and restaurants, though the property does have its own dining at AJ's, Crust Pizza and 1912 lounge.Facts

I was expecting a better course conditions based on what their website said.
Great price and fun
The course had a lot of debris from the past dust storm. Some sand traps were just mud. Overall still enjoyable

Played Sunday and greens are slow but good condition! No dry and bald patches in the fairway nor in the greens. Good day and golf course! Would definitely play here again!

A Timeless Classic
San Marcos is a timeless classic. It’s not the longest or the hardest but it is sneaky. It looks onside open but tree placement will quickly change your opinion. The greens are also tiny.
Ignore the condition rating as the greens had just been punched.
Its also good to see they are making some improvements to keep the course up to date.
Great course for summer golf
Played San Marcos Golf Course yesterday and had a fantastic experience. The course is in excellent shape, especially considering the Arizona summer conditions. The fairways are firm, fast, and running out nicely, rewarding good shots and adding some extra distance.
The greens were outstanding—soft enough to hold approach shots while still rolling true and consistently throughout the round. The course was well-maintained from tee to green, and the overall conditioning exceeded expectations for this time of year.
If you’re looking for a fun, affordable round with great playing conditions, San Marcos is definitely worth a visit. Kudos to the grounds crew for keeping the course in such great shape during the summer months.
Disappointing surprise
Freshly punched greens with zero grass and back 9 is closed. There was no notice of either of these things when I booked on Golf Now. I get that it's summer and every course is doing maintenance but just train your staff to update this info on the app.
GolfNow did not advise the front 9 was closed. It was a very disappointing surprise!
Great value for the money!
Fun course staff has the fairways in great condition for summer golf and with the price you really can’t beat it. Excited to see the new sim bays finished.
