Morning view down the Par-5 5th fairway. A strong drive, especially to the center-right fairway, sets you up to go for the green in two! Photo submitted by vmustang on 04/25/2021

Great course
Course tee boxes and greens were in great shape. Bunkers could be a little softer. Definitely look at the distance to water crossings before teeing off. I was fortunate to play with a friend who is a regular at the course. Friendly staff and budget friendly.
Course is in good condition
Typical AZ golf / a few dry spots on the fairways but generally in good shape / the starter needs to take a chill pill / first, he came up to us to push our tee time up 15 minutes - we were still waiting on our 4th to arrive / then, after a 1 hour and 45 minute front nine, he told us "your time is good but you need to catch up to the group in front of you" - we teed off behind a 2some who had a 15 minute gap in front of them...we were a 4some, so naturally they played faster than us. Relax dude!! Finished under 4 hours and did not hold up the 3some behind us.
Very Skinny Fairways
Very Skinny Fairways which causes you to have to wait for others to come get their balls when hitting from a different hole. Multiple times. Ranger not monitoring pace of play. Play so slow ended up leaving after 13th hole.
San Marcos
Always liked this course, traditional layout and well kept. Disappointed in shape of bunkers, lack of sand more like dirt with some dirtclods. All in all will return again.
Love this course
Becoming one of my go to courses. The staff is friendly, course in great shape and pace of play is good. I will play every week here when I can. Thank you very much for a great time.
Great Course
San Marcos is a very solid track for the price. Staff is friendly and course conditions are great. Fairways are pure and greens roll true. Bunkers get very dense but not too hard to get out of. Fairways are forgiving as well. This is great for midweek golf. Pace of play is horrendous on the weekends. Played Friday at 12:30 and it was about a 5 hour round. Overall great course.
Wear your helmet
It’s a fine muni style course, but the number of holes side by side causes you to be in the line of fire on almost every hole. So many near misses. Decent value for the money if you don’t end up in the ER. Great service from the young people working there.
Only so so
Course does not have a full practice range. They were short on carts. There was no ice or cooler on the cart. There are no ball washers on the course.
Tees and greens were in great shape.
