Morning view down the Par-5 5th fairway. A strong drive, especially to the center-right fairway, sets you up to go for the green in two! Photo submitted by vmustang on 04/25/2021

Good shape, fast play, fun course.
San Marcos is a great course that is in great shape and at a fair price. This is one of the oldest courses in the east valley and it has mature trees and has homes and apartments on the outer perimeter.
But there are a couple small negatives.
Golf carts were in short supply and clubs were not on a cart untill we were on-deck.
Practice range is small and practice balls are limited flight.
Parking in the small lot can be a challenge, but there is plenty of parking adjacent to the course - bit of a walk.
Beverage cart service sucks.
Beverage cart was no where to be found the whole time we were golfing, it was just sitting on the 9th hole the whole time. Try to sneak in the beer next time since service sucks!
Value & Decent
Course in decent shape. Pace of play a little slow but not bad
Very average course despite it's important history
We had not played here before and based our choice on the GolfNow reviews. It was disappointing.
It is a parkland course with a few water canals running through it. It was the least enjoyable of the 4 courses we played. We had been hoping that it would have desert scenery but it did not. Having said this the welcome by the staff at the bag drop and on returning the cart was among the best we experienced and the Pro Shop welcome was also very good. It is rather unlikely that we would choose to play here again.
The course was well maintained. Restroom on the course was clean. All the staff that I had interaction with was friendly and helpful.
Congratulations
Well kept, good condition, pace of play was perfect, employees were very personable. It was a pleasure playing there.
Played the course a few years ago it is a lot better condition now, pace of play was a little slow but it was Sunday so you kind of expect that.
Good value
Overseed came in very nice. Greens were good and will definitely be back. Great overall value.
