Over rayed
What happened to golf in AZ?!?!? $300 for golf in September. The pinnacle course has way too many holes where I couldn’t hit driver because of the desert breaks in the fairway.
Course could be better than a muni.
Played Pinnacle a day prior and was impressed with course conditions and layout.
Monument was a different story. Upon viewing the first green my concerns began. The greens were covered in sand and the amount of unrepaired ball marks were astronomical. It appeared that not a single played had repaired a mark anywhere.
Also my cart GPS system was not functional. A member of my foursome contacted the club house and we were assured another cart would sent out before we reached the next green. Needless to say 4 holes later we called again.
During our original call , we expressed that since we were almost the last group out today, could we change to Pinnacle since we knew conditions were soo much better. They denied our request saying " there's maintaining course". Now onward to the course. Greens remained terrible for remainder of round.
In the end at cart drop off I asked why course was in such terrible condition and Pinnacle was beautiful. Reply was Pinnacle just reopened after months of closure.
So while on course was closed the other took all play and some how the ownership.thought a over priced $200 green fee was warranted.
Definitely not up to Troon standards. There are much better tracks in the area and I would avoid this location.
Course was great condition!
First time playing the Monument course & wasn’t disappointed. They had the Pinnacle course closed for aeration & we had booked this in advance but course condition was still great. No issues with pace of play & course was challenging. I’d say it’s a bit easier than the Pinnacle course but still fun & challenging nonetheless.
Fantastic Course
First time playing here, but it is everything I have heard. From the moment you step out of the car until you are back in it to leave, the staff here is top notch and friendly. The course is amazing, well maintained, great carts with GPS, greens and bunkers about perfect even given this time of year. What I learned. This course is a lot tighter than it looks. Next time I would hit more 3 wood than driver to stay in the fairway. The ball seemed to roll off into bushes and in to penalty areas quite a bit. Recommend sacrificing a little distance for being in the fairway. Can’t wait to come back. 😀
Troon North Monument Course
We had a great time playing the Monument Course. The fairways and greens were in fantastic condition considering it was July. Views were breathtaking. Had the entire course to ourselves and played in less than 3 1/2 hours. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to playing Pinnacle next time.
Terrible Pace
We have played several times at Troon Monument, but yesterday we could not finish playing the course after 4.5hrs of play. He had to leave on hole 16th because we were desperate that the pace was too slow been low season. The course marshall has to plan better the group assigments!
Best possible conditions for mid July
Surprisingly lush and receptive greens. Best shape I’ve played any course in months. Plenty of impressive and scorable holes, and lots of wildlife. Bobcats and javelena sightings.
Great price right now
Great price for Troon North right now and its in better condition than any other public course in the valley. Not as hot up there on the hill and the breeze made it feel like it was 85 instead of 105. Had a blast!
Slow play, firm greens.
Really like the course. Slow play late on a Thursday afternoon. Greens are running fast. Little bit firm. Water jugs were out of water. Still love the course.
