Hotel with history behind it!! Photo submitted by Shypoke55 on 04/22/2019
Slowwwwwwww Greens
Ball bounces on greens that sare super slow, a lot of dirt spots on greens, has a good layout just needs way more upkeep, outdoor bump n run is best part of course
Choose elsewhere.
Greens very slow. May not have been cut or rolled for days. Fairways we're ok. Tee boxes rough at best. Bunkers were ok at best. Maintenance is not a priority in my opinion. Not fan of gas carts, however the one we had seemed very new. Unfortunately, the cart was the best part of the round.
Needs some love
Not worth the price paid. Course needs attention. It seems to have been neglected for awhile. Ball washers were falling apart.
Mud greens
Some greens had grass otters did not
Ones with grass where not mowed short
Areas around greens chipping off of mud
Not worth money they charged
Disappointment
Tee boxes bad. Fairways ok. Greens were extremely slow. Best days are far behind. Interesting history. SF Giants spring training camp during early 80s. Now, the history is the best thing about this place from a golf angle.
The past history of this resort is interesting but appears to have fallen on hard times. From tee boxes, greens and cart paths, the course has been neglected. Golfers also wear denim and sleeveless t-shirts. I don’t feel this is even close to being a 3.8 star course.
Sadly disappointed
Starter at another course recommended this course and a picture tells a thousand words. Bad starter lol. As many on golf now can attest all the courses In Phoenix area look great from the pictures but stepping onto the grounds tells a different story. Drove the hour to play and went out as a single so pace was fine.
Sadly this course may have been nice in the past but has been neglected for years from what I saw.
Tee boxes were in terrible shape. Lots of cabbage growing all the tee boxes, fairways and greens. Fairways in pretty bad shape for most part. Greens were ok but were like molasses so need to be cut and rolled.
Rates around Phoenix have gone thru the roof so looks like if you want to play an average to above average course you have to pay $100 or more.
Wouldn’t recommend this course to those that play a few times a week and know what a well maintained course should be like. Won’t return till they invest in their product.
The course had1 1/4” of rain the day before we played. It was really wet. Cart path only. Greens were nice but a bit on the slow side. I liked the layout, old time feel with lots of mature trees.
Nice older course!
Overall we enjoyed this course and got a decent deal on it. It's older and the cart path "disappeared" at times making it slightly confusing to the next hole. Seemed slightly rushed as we had people waiting on us while we were waiting on the group ahead. No that big of a deal as we still finished in regular play time.
No service cart, so you gotta load up on snacks/drinks headed out and then again after the turn.
The entire staff here was absolutely amazing however, solidifying our guaranteed return.
