Beautiful, challenging course
This is a beautiful golf course. Each hole seems like it could be featured on a post card. The greens were fast and fairways were well-maintained. Lots of elevation changes and difficult shots featured on this course. The course is more reasonably priced than some of the other premier courses - Troon, Boulders, TPC-Scottsdale, etc. - but I still feel it is a little pricey. For $25 dollars less (before tax), I think the Phoenician is a better value. That being said, this is still a fabulous course that everyone should try at least once.
Gold Canyon - Dinosaur Mountain
The staff were very cordial and helpful. It was well organized. Our tee off time was on schedule. The views were spectacular with interesting elevation changes. Our playing time was 4 hours without feeling rushed. The only minor draw back was the practice area. Hitting off mats seemed out of place for this course. I would definitely go back and play it again.
Beautiful topography and scenic views from every hole
Loved this course. By far my favorite of any in the valley. I give it a 10 plus
super fun great shape
HAD A GREAT TIME COURSE IN GREAT SHAPE. GREEN IN GREAT SHAPE WOULD PLAY THE COURSE AGAIN
Beautiful views with many different elevations. Great layout!
Play was EXREMELY slow! Waited 5, sometimes 10 minutes on most holes before teeing off. Course Marshall's were MIA, on a few occasions there were four separate groups playing the same hole! A shame, the course is beautiful. I'm hoping this was an exception as I would like to play there again.
Wow ... Just wow!
We arrived at this course much too early for our start time and the starter not only accommodated us but sent us off so that we would have the course almost to ourselves.
We played the Dinosaur course and would highly recommend this course to everyone. It was in pristine conditions - we have played courses where the greens are less manicured than the fairways here. Absolutely beautiful.
The surroundings are gorgeous, the views incredible and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Don't miss this course.
Your eyes will be full, looking at course all day.
One of the most appealing courses I have played ...I always look forward to playing Dinosaur! Lovely and fun.
My favorite course in the world
I love this course. This course has the best views in the world.
Incredible elevation changes
Really enjoyed the course. It's challenging but if you hit the ball in the fairway, it is fair. The views are incredible. A little slow because of 6 par threes. We played e dinosaur course and really enjoyed. I highly recommend.
Stunning views of gold canyon and dinosaur mountain!
Played sidewinder. Great track with stunning scenery through the front9 and a number of the back 9 holes. Practice facility is poor (off of mats and can't hit driver in the range) but the course is a lot of fun. Some challenging holes but overall not too difficult of a course. I have played it a number of times and it's always in great shape. Greens are quick and true. It's a worthy little brother to Gold Canyon's other course, Dinosaur Mountain which I'd highly recommend to anyone's "to-do" list.
spectacular mountain course
Played in under 4 hours....great value and very challenging course overall. You can't beat the value with the beauty of the landscape. I will be back
Sidewinder challenging and in great shape
Corse is in great shape. Challenging and scenic. 4 hr. round
Beautiful and Fair Course
Gorgeous views of Superstition Mts. and the desert. Course is fun and challenging.
Awesome course
This course is not only challenging but one of the most beautiful and scenic courses you will ever play. The staff was super!
Best view and condition possible. Greens in very good shape and fast
Staff very friendly and helpfully even though one of our players wasn't able to play because of a cyst on his leg. They did not charge us for that person even though we had prepaid through Golfnow.
Spectacular views, great condition, great golf and staff
We played Sidewinder at Gold Canyon.
The golf course is challenging with the right amount of obstacles to make the round of golf enjoyable for all golfers. You don't have to be a sub 10 hdcp. to enjoy the course. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The greens are fast and the sand traps playable in that they are soft and fluffy not hard pan and rocky like a few courses I've played in Arizona. I definitely recommend this course to everyone and to bring a camera to take pictures of the area. The starter we had was friendly, helpful and actually got us started early which is remarkable. I enjoyed the the variety of long and short holes and noticed the variety of tee boxes for all golfers of various abilities. The ranger was seen often and was informative of the rate of play ahead of us. The golf was kept at a steady pace, not too fast or too slow which really improved the enjoyment of the day.
good experience overall
well maintained with good pace of play, a little. pricey. Spectacular views. Tricky greens.but smooth putting surfaces throughout.
Very scenic and friendly staff
The golf course is very scenic and is very well maintened.
The first nine holes are average but the nine back holes are more challenging. You will not find water to drink on the course so take some bottles to go on the course.
The dinausor course is even more scenic.
Highly recommend playing the Dinosaur Course.
This was a great course to play. The prettiest veiws you will see. Very friendly staff, quick pace of play and great conditions. I have played it 3 times already in 2 1/2 weeks and would like to play it once more before I leave town.
lots of elevation cahnge on the front 9
Felt like splurging while on vacation so we chose Gold Canyon as we were staying there. Course was in awsome condition for the amount of play it gets. Very challenging course but fair. Greens were in beautiful condition. Front and back 9s very different. Fun playing a top notch course.
