Harrah’s Ak-Chin Hotel & Casino

My first time playing Ak Chin and I’m very impressed. Thank you to the staff, starters, and Marshal. We had a group of idiots playing from the tips in front of us which could have resulted in a 5 hour round. But the Marshall took control and got them moving, and we finished in under 4 hours. Course conditions were fantastic. This course is difficult and distance comes at a premium (it’s long) so high handicaps do yourself and everyone else a favor and play from the correct tees. I’m a 12 HC and the gold tees (6900) were pretty tough. Likely next time I’ll try the blue tees. The par 3s were all demanding. The entire layout was really fun and testing. I wouldn’t pay the premium winter prices to play here (I’ve seen well over $150), but that goes for most high ends tracks in the valley. They have chilled water on every 3 holes which is fantastic during the summer heat. I loved my day at Ak Chin and I’m excited to get back and play ASAP.

Great golf oasis in middle of desert! Just a little to far to travel to make it a regular. Otherwise a great track to bring your visiting friends or family.

Group in front of us playing at least two tees back of where they should have been. Waited on every shot. Never saw a marshal. Nice course overall.

The fairways are nice but if you don't hit the fairway on every hole, good luck! The sand traps are Hard and with a name like Southern dunes you would think they would be incredible . The value for the money is not worth it

With a name like Southern dunes one would think they would take care of their sand traps but this is not the case there hard and terrible will not play this course ever again

This is what a golf course is supposed to look like! Greens are great, run true about 12s. Fairways like carpet everywhere. Bunkers are brown sand, slightly moist and perfect for fairway bunkers. Around the greens they aren't for getting that perfect spin but are fair. Deep too. Try to stay out of some of those moon craters! No houses around, very quiet! Very fun day and would highly recommend this course.

This course is really nice and really hard! Great conditions and reasonably priced given the area.

So much sand on every hole and really tough holes. You absolutely need to pick the right tee box based on your skill and probably go one box forward. Do not try to carry bunkers off the tee unless you are certain or you I’ll be penalized. The layout is incredible, if you play within your means and play smart, you can score.

Really friendly staff, good proshop and bar. Would definitely recommend.
