First Class
Wildfire is fantastic. Greatt fairways, great greens etc……. Get there early hit balls on the range. Their service team is first class….. Bev cart…. They do it right. 75$ thru golf now. You can’t beat it…. Get out here
Not fun
This course is extremely challenging. Way over priced for the current condition of the course. I’ve heard the Faldo track is more forgiving but I won’t return to this club.
There is a lot of sand traps on the course, and there was quite a few of those that had small pebbles in with the sand. There was some wet spots, even on some parts of The fairways
Must be overwatering
Better than Ak-Chin Southern Dunes
Faldo course is top notch, layout is similar to Ak-Chin Southern Dunes but better due to the attention to detail around the edges.
Must play again
First time to play this course and was introduced to over 100 bunkers. The course was in excellent condition but told we could drive the cart on the fairway only to be restricted by the cart's GPS. The fairways were lush with the winter grass and the greens rolled fast and true. Stay out of the bunkers because you often face high lips. The restaurant was nice and service excellent.
Bravo Faldo
Enjoyed the Faldo course more than the Palmer course. If you play 18 without being in a bunker you are a unicorn. Good pace of play even with cart path only. Nice views on the property and interesting par 3s.
Paying for parking
I think its absolutely ridiculous that they charge you for parking and you don't know ahead of time. I have never paid for parking at any golf course!
Good course, not an elite track
The course is alright - challenging if you are not accurate off the tee as there's a lot of tight fairways surrounded by desert sand and ditches that balls roll into.
The rough isn't really rough but compressed dry grass and with tight fairways you're hitting off it or the desert sand frequently. Greens rolled well, felt they were fair. This is the only course I've played in Arizona that actually had sand in their bunkers. Carts had GPS and showed slopes of greens. Bottled water included in cooler.
Have to be very accurate off the tee. Good amount of doglegs on the course. Front 9 was unremarkable and target golf, back 9 had some more interesting holes with approach shots over sand and water. There was a unique par 5 with the green at the end of a horseshoe fairway, probably the most memorable hole. Bunkers and doglegs were consistently ~250 out in the fairway which made you strategize how you played the holes.
Starters were very friendly, they space tee times out 10 minutes, we lucked out and had 2 groups ahead of us us only play 9 holes which made for a quick round. Drink cart came around a few times - hot dog was burnt.
Play it if you get a deal, but it's not an elite track.
Great resort course
Had no expectations going into this round and was pleasantly surprised. Other than the $10 for parking the course and amenities were top notch. $10 to park but you get a full practice facility and range balls… pretty worth it to me. Rangers were doing their jobs as well. We started our round at 1:30pm on a Sunday and finished 5:25 as the sun was just setting. I will be back to play the Faldo course where I hear there are some crazy bunkers scattered all over FUN!!
4:45 round
clueless starter and ineffective ranger. played a 4:45 min round on a tuesday
Great course conditions but...
When I pay this much for a round of golf, I expect a little better customer service. No bag drop, no help getting clubs in or off carts.
Pace of play was poor but course was great. Great practice facilities.
Get a better rate before you play this course.
Nice layout
Only issue I had with the course were the greens. Too slow due to the turf being too high. I also thought the rate should have been reduced due to cart path only requirement.
