Palmer Course at Wildfire Golf Club at Desert Ridge
About
The Palmer Course at Wildfire Golf Club is an 18-hole golf course designed by Arnold Palmer and built in 1997. The par-72 golf course measures 7,145 yards from the tournament tees. "I enjoy designing golf courses that celebrate the sheer fun of golf," Palmer said about this course, "and Wildfire is exactly that."
The Bermuda grass Palmer Course at Wildfire Golf Club is one of two championship courses at the club. It features a GPS option that offers golfers detailed mapping of the Faldo and Palmer courses, precise yardages for tee shots and approach shots to the greens, and the chance to order breakfast and lunch from the golf cart. Additional features include communication with the golf shop, a CBS Sportsline ticker with all scores 24 hours a day, and the leader board for tournaments. Its sibling, the Faldo golf course, also features the system.

Golfer Reviews
Great conditions, sub par staff
For $100, I was very happy with course conditions even if higher than other Scottsdale courses. I am trying to play high end courses while prices are reduced for summer time. Layout of Palmer course was great and a lot of fun. Keep it in the fairway and course is getable. Greens are a bit slow but roll true. My only issue is that staff, other than a great starter and beverage cart attendee, could not be bothered by having me as a walk on single. Pro shop guy gave impression he was bored and I was interrupting his sceeen time on phone. Restaurant couldn't care less that I needed ice in my Yetii. Minor details but certainly reduce the value I felt I got. Overall was a great round.
Everything was great
Play pace, course layout, fairway condition, staff's kindness.
Everything was perfect.
However the greens were not good.
Always Great and fun to play
Great layout, great conditions and the staff treats you like a private club. Much better that than the very disappointing Ak-Chin Southern Dunes I played while I Phoenix. Save time and money, play Wildfire.
Great Spot
40$ + thru Golf Now / nice place - nice people/ pace of play 3:33 min/ course is good shape
Great Resort Course
From the bag drop off, to the practice facilities, to our starter (Jay), to the excellent condition of the course and layout of holes, to our post-round cocktails and lunch. This was a perfect place to play.
Highly recommend. The staff was way more friendly than at Troon North and the Boulders-South, where we also played.
Outstanding
From Bag Drop to course beverages everyone was amazing.
Personable, friendly and still professional. Tough to get all that anymore.
Definitely be back here again!
Tuff course, dry conditions
Course is difficult and conditions of fair ways was dry. Sand traps hard. Played at Biltmore Estates and love it compared to Palmer course.
Favorite Course In AZ
I love this course. Extremely well maintained and with stunning views. Fun layout while still being friendly to beginner/intermediate players. Highly recommend.
Well Run Golf Operation
About what you would come to expect from a well run golf operations team. Outside services staff were great and very friendly when you arrived. Shop was dialed in and the staff was friendly. Beverage cart passed through on a very consistent rate for an afternoon round.
Course was in good shape and the greens had a very fair pace. The company was great so all in all a 9/10 day.
Very interesting
Course has multiple different holes. Knowledge of the course is critical. Pars 3’s though are very similar. I hit same club on 3 of them. Staff very friendly. A bit overpriced especially on rental clubs at $100.
Played both courses recently and hard to imagine anyone picking Biltmore Estates, essentially one huge field with tee boxes and green randomly placed throughout, constantly dodging balls from other holes, and awful greens to Wildfire Palmer. Bunkers only possible difference in Estates favor. From the time you have to take a shuttle to the putting greens and range, to putting on bumpiest non-areated greens, Estates is a place I would never return to. I would rate Wildifre Palmer a 7-8 and Biltmore Estates a 2-3. Orange Tree is better than Biltmore Estates.
