Coyote

Fun course in good shape

Very slow pace of play

They have gps in carts so they know when a group is out of position and slowing others but do nothing about it

Faking It

Love this challenging layout (hardest course in Tucson) but conditions are failing again and WAY too expensive for what you’re getting. At these rates greens should be much better maintained and bunkers should have more than a thin veneer of sand over concrete. Bottles of sand/divot mix are usually empty and there is no more on the course (despite recommending this to at least 4 employees over the past several months.) That would be ok if the grounds crew filled the many divots and fixed some ball marks. Nope. This course is a local historic gem. Let’s show a little bit of pride, guys.

Great view of Tucson Valley

Great desert course! Take a few balls with you. If you are off the fairway you are out of luck. Course is in great condition otherwise. We played 18 for $90 with cart and range balls. Best part are the views over Tucson with Nature around you.

One of my favorite courses

Hadn't been able to play in Tucson in a couple years it was great to play the course again. It provides a good challenge which makes you use strategy on how to play each hole. Looking forward to playing again

Won't play again

Overall, there are too many blind tee shots, especially from the back tees and blind shots into areas where you can hit the middle of the fairway but the slope takes your ball into junk. Some of the greens were in rough shape too, too rough for how short/quick they had them cut. Not a long layout, but not a fun one either, for a resort course.

But the bunkers were well maintained.

Great weather day

I read on an earlier review that the greens were slow. Not today. Greens and fairways were in excellent shape. Greens were fast. I wish the rough was more like rough but I understand that the dormant grass has yet to come out. I would definately play here again.

Good bunkers

The bunkers were well maintained. Fairways and tees were also in good condition. Many greens were not in good condition. Patchy and bumpy. And the greens were cut too short and fast for their condition.

Layout was short and annoying. Too many toyally blind tee shots from the back tees. Not a course I would like to play again.

Service was ok. Only saw the beverage cart once. Probably good, as there weren't any on-course bathrooms lNot good, as the layout does noot take you by the clubhouse between 9's.

Overall, not worth $125 green fees. Not really even worth the $65 Hot Deal price.

Meh

For the green fees charged, $180, I was expecting a really interesting, challenging layout. It was a very typical desert course and I’ve played it’s equal for half the price. Course was in good condition, pace of play was fine and the clubhouse/restaurant were more than adequate. At $100-125, I would have given this 4 stars, but it is over-priced.

Great Course (bit slow)

First time playing Starr Pass and thought it was in great condition. Tough course though so suggest being sensible with your tee choice. Done great views from the whole course but especially from the 7th tee. Only issue was pace of play with groups infront thinking they were playing The Masters with the amount of time they took!! Why no marshall to keep things moving? If back in Tucson I’ll be back.

Great course and set up, staff was very accommodating

Had a great round and thoroughly enjoyed the time there. We showed up and unfortunately breakfast wasn’t being served at course on Mondays or Tuesdays so we shuttled up to the Marriott.

Golf expensive today thanks to changes and Covid so at $150 I felt like it was well priced compared to other places for it. $150 is still a lot for golf though compared to what we used to pay.

I played rattler/roadrunner and I was thankful for the gos in the carts indeed.
