Omni Tucson National Resort
About Omni Tucson National Resort
Omni Tucson National Resort is one of Arizona's most historic golf resorts, having formerly hosted the PGA Tour. The resort has just 128 guest rooms and suites, making it a more boutique experience compared to some of the larger Tucson golf resorts. There are two very different, 18-hole golf courses onsite. The original Catalina Course opened in 1962 with the resort and is more classically parkland in nature. The Sonoran Course is newer, designed by Tom Lehman, and more of a desert-style layout. Guests can dine at casual Legends Bar & Grill or enjoy fine dining at Bob's Steak & Chop House. Off the golf course, guests can enjoy lighted tennis course, spa, 24-hour fitness center and sand volleyball courts.Facts

#16 plays fairly steeply uphill. I was 16 inches for a birdie, after hitting a solid 135 club from 109 out. Photo submitted by Jonathan5270953 on 08/14/2013

catalina course - tucson nat'l Photo submitted by bellefeuille on 11/25/2012
nice change from typical desert course. a classic
A classic course in great shape. Evokes days of old when celebs and pros played in the old Tucson Open. Great ambiance. Tee selections for all levels of play.
Great variety of shot selection
Tees, fairways, greens and traps in great shape. We played from the white tees and fully enjoyed the round. The ponds are well placed thus making you consider your method of playing the hole. Elevated well trapped greens made approaches interesting and fun. Will play the course again...
This course was great
From the time you arrive, to the time you leave, you are treated like a special guest. I was not staying at the resort, but treated as though I were. From the gentleman who greets you on arrival, to the pro shop, to the grill/bar, to the starter, everyone I came in contact with was friendly and helpful. The course was pristine, and was maintained as though there were a PGA tournament taking place. I look forward to playing this course again, and will highly recommend it to my friends.
i like it
The facilities are great, the staff members they work enthusiastic and friendly, I had fun playing at Omni Tucson National golf course, and every player of the foursome as well. thank you golf now!
Gotta love this course
We had a great time, the course was in pristine shape and ultimately it was a memorable round, especially the 15 foot flag stick on the steep up hill par 4. Also, watching Mark M. be stoked for the entire round because he was finally playing here after growing up in Tucson and wanting to his whole life was priceless.
The course was definitely a 5-star resort course, very playable
I felt this course was challenging but fair. The differences in tees is quite severe. I played the "Whites" which was 6600 yards (Blues at most courses), which for my handicap index of a course 10 was about right. The guys I played with used a non-advertised "Red/White" tee mix (on a special scorecard), which was about 6000 yards and they did have a distinct advantage. If your handicap is >12 I would say ask for the Red/White scorecard and you will enjoy the course a lot more.
this course has well protected greens. Accuracy is most important for a good score.
Course plays well, although accuracy is required, especially around greens which are well protected by lots of bunkers in front and back.
Good "old style" course
Played as a single and the course was not too busy, so I got around fast. The course itself was in good shape and the holes were pretty straight-forward.
All in all, an enjoyable experience. Just wish I'd played better.
I'd go back again when I'm in the area.
Course layout extremely appealing
First class in all aspects. Interaction with the staff was genuine and friendly.
One of the best golf resorts in Tucson!
For many years I have been playing at Tucson National and it is only getting better. The two course option gives you all the play one could want, if it be a local or guest! Golf now always seems to get you a great rate. The food and beverage is great and the staff both golf and wait are spot on. I wish the Tucson Open would return to Tucson National what a great venue!
Well maintained challenging course
Easy to bogie hard to par, a challenging course. It's easy to see why the Tucson Open was played here for many years. Great closing hole.
I played the Sonoran Course, This is a great desert course. You must hit the fairway off the Tee.
Outstanding conditioning, good sand in bunkers, well groomed fairways and greens. Position off the tee is important for approach shots. Staff, pro shop, greeters to beverage cart are very courteous.
Beautiful all around
We played the Catalina course. Enjoyed every part of it. Lots of long, traditional golf. With a 1:24 tee time on Nov.24, we finished the 18th hole at dusk. I'm glad we were able to play the hole as it was beautiful.
Great value when booked with golfnow
We booked with golfnow for a shotgun start and the rate was fantastic. The course was in great shape and other than the cart path on everyhole we had a great day. Beautiful views were a bonus.
Beautiful course!
We played the Sonora Course. Hilly and some beautiful holes. Great sand, excellent, fast greens and the fairways were like walking on cushy rugs! It was alot of fun, would go back in a flash.
The course is challenging as well as fair to all skill levels.
Excellent lunch at the Legends, served by a very attentive and friendly staff.
Challenging but fair courses that provide lots of variety.
We always love to play Omni Tucson. Both courses are interesting and in excellent shape. Great restaurant and bar, too! It is the whole package!!!
This course was in great shape and very pretty to play
The Sonoran course was in great shape, the staff were freindly, played the course in about 4 hrs. The people I golfed with were great, and the weather couldn't have been better!
Great views,excellent condition!
Course is in fantastic shape, has amazing views of mountains in every direction. Greens are some of the best in town.
Very nice course
Tucson national is a very nice course. Conditions were pretty good to and it was the week before overseeding ....alot more big trees than other courses because its in a valley but fairways very open. Nice practice facilities but not much as far as a "clubhouse ".. great value! Will definitely play again.
