Orange Tree
We enjoy this course but the greens were horrible. Dead spots everywhere and we were not told ahead of time.
Enjoyed the round
fairways were fair, greens rolled true. Some of the staff were not friendly. Snak shack lady
Disappointing conditions
Greens are the worst that I’ve ever seen in Phoenix area.
Extremely poor conditions
Greens had huge damaged spots. Fairways dried out. Need to play preferred lies within 10 feet Not worth the money.
Good value
Price was right although there were 3 greens that were in really rough shape. Carts and pace of play were excellent.
Disappointing
the course has a great lay out but he condition of the course right now is very poor. The greens are very bad and they should not be charging people full rates to play the course that's how bad greens are.
I would not suggest playing this course.
I will never return to play it. Very disappointing.
Poor Conditions
The course was in terrible condition. Greens had patches of dirt and poorly maintained and the fairways were patchy. It’s too bad because I’ve watched this course get progressively worse. I will not play again.
Better Conditions Available Elsewhere
Friends recommended this course to us. Most of the greens were in terrible shape. The bunkers were not well groomed. We were 4 and played at 3:00pm. You could really tell it was a resort course (broken tees everywhere and no true tee boxes... the tee box markers were reversed on one of the holes). We won't choose this course again.
Unplayable
Total ripoff. You can’t putt, every city course is in much better shape. Every green is sand, how can they charge $130+?
Disappointing Greens
The greens are a mess. Several have multiple large bare areas. Location is good, staff is friendly and helpful. Fairways are, well, fair. But the greens are atrocious.
Blighted Greens
This was my first time playing Orange Tree - I found it online and it looked like a good course based on pictures and the course layout. Unfortunately, the conditions were far from the image that was presented. More than half of the greens were blighted to an extent that ruined any chance of a good experience. Paying anything more than 50% of the greens fees being charged would be too much. I was embarrassed that I was the one who suggested the course and made the teetime for my group.
Terrible Conditions On All Of The Greens
Every green had significant problems with no grass (only dirt) in many locations. The only exception to this was a small area of no grass on the right rear of the 18th green. There was obviously no attempt to fix and rectify the terrible putting conditions, since it was not limited to just a few greens. When checking in before the start of the round, the attendant at the Pro Shop did not mention anything about the condition of the greens. Orange Tree should refund at least half of the Green Fee to each player that has been subjected to the conditions of these greens. DO NOT PLAY HERE until they fix the surfaces of all of the greens.
Greens amess
The greens were the worse I have ever played on. I did move it often because of sandy areas and dead turf but that’s not golf!
Truly terrible course conditions
The clubhouse, facilities, amenities, and staff were all outstanding. Based on that, I expected a well maintained and managed course. Instead, these were the worst course conditions I experienced in Arizona, and frankly, anywhere I have golfed in years. The tee boxes were uneven and dry. The fairways were either overgrown or dead, with poor grass cover throughout. In places they were so overwatered that the carts bogged down. the approaches were cut to one length, no second cut, and they were like grass ledges The greens were the worst of the disastrous conditions. They were cut short in order to blend with the 5 ft stretches of bare dirt throughout. Absolutely unplayable. One of the course marshals told us that there had been an attempt to overseed at the beginning of the season with excessive watering, with led to a fungus that was dragged around to every hole. This course should be closed for major renovations of nearly every hole.
