Great layout Fun course to play !
This is a great track of golf. Great conditions. Nice fairways, green, traps.
I always play here when visiting Phoenix area.
A nice drive from Phoenix.. Play here you will be glad you did.
Fun and challenging golf course
The course was in good shape when we played and the greens were quick but not super fast. We enjoyed our round enough to purchase a reply. 36 holes at Los Cab is a good test.

(Rancho de) Los Caballeros Golf Club - A Hidden Arizona Gem
Rancho de los Caballeros is a legitimate working "dude ranch," honoring the "gentlemen on horseback," known as Spanish caballeros. The ranch, horses, decor and its 20,000 acres of land set it apart from any other golfing experience in Arizona. It opened in the late 1940's (the golf course opened in 1979) and has been offering a brilliant experience ever since.
Avid desert SouthWest golfers likely know the work of Greg Nash and Jeff Hardin: Both courses at El Conquistador CC are theirs, as is Union Hills Country Club. Separately, the two worked with some of the greats, including Robert "Red" Lawrence (Desert Forest), George Fazio (Butler National) and Billy Casper (Anthem). But the pair's tour de force is Los Cab.
Small bent grass greens are the hallmark of the course. They are always in phenomenal shape (I have actually back up well-struck mid-irons here). Thye tend to be fast with a fair amount of undulation for their size. Fairways are ample for desert golf and the views are wonderful, overlooking Vulture Peak and the Bradshaw Mountains. The golf course tracks easily through the rising and falling terrain of the Upper Sonoran Desert
Hardin and Nash gave us a terrific routing which culminates in the final few holes, beginning with 13, a spectacular par 5 that demands your very best. In fact, your "A" game is ABSOLUTELY what you will want to have as you reach the final three holes. Sixteen through eighteen have shredded many a good round, as they gracefully fall through the desert to the clubhouse. At 7000 yards-plus, the slope rating is a stiff 137. But even from the 6500 yard range, you have a strong 132 staring right back at you.
Pace of play is often quick and wonderful. The food always top quality and the shop apportioned with great products and a one of a kind logo that, when seen by another player who has teed it up there as well, will often lead to a friendly conversation about that Hidden Gem that exists in Wickenburg, Arizona.

Great course
From tee to green this course was in great shape. If you get a chance to play it, take advantage. Some of the holes are a little more forgiving from the tee box than most desert courses, but there is still plenty of trouble lurking.

Great course w/all kinds of elevation changes. Plenty of twists and turns. Difficult yes, but fairways generous enough to position the ball. A few greens had extreme undulations. Fast.
Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate. HUGE wind throughout. Rain introduced itself on 15 thru the finish.

Who’s that young man in the pro shop???
Course is in great shape. From tees to greens beautiful lush and meets the eye well.
I’ve played it twice in the last ten days. It’s a one hour drive for me from Glendale. I played on a Golf Now deal both times.
Both days was there early. A young man with red hair was on the desk and I felt as though I was not welcome there at all. This was both days. The course was NOT busy at all.
First day a twosome teed off an hour before we did. We were paired with a much older couple. I’m 65 they were easily mid seventies. Seeing nobody tee off for thirty minutes I asked this young man if my wife and I could go out as a twosome. He said “ no you’ll be running into foursomes. We only have foursomes out there. He was a little terse in his delivery. Again it felt like I was an imposition to this guy.
The couple we were with said let’s go to the tee ten minutes before our tee time. The day went fine. We waited for them to hit twice to play our next shot often. This is understandable with their age. They prompted us to go ahead after six holes, nobody in site, and we elected to stay with them. Good for them I think we found a few balls they had hi into the rough or desert.
Even though we were on Golf Now deals if nobody is playing the course put the golfers out. Then you can still put walk ups out and have good vibes with the people you let out early. They wouldn’t be on Golf Now if they weren’t trying to get more play.
At the end of the day the course is still a great take and a good value but when I’m asked about Los Caballeros you can guess what I tell them.
I’m a thirteen handicap and my wife is a seventeen. We both move along and usually will play in under four hours if the course is open ahead.

Very enjoyable round
This course is a little out of the way but a joy to play. Greens excellent well maintained course!
Playing this course and enjoying it so much made up for the lack of staff available to you. I noticed a rattlesnake coiled upby the back nine ladies washroom warned the ladies behind us and they called the pro shop.to have someone remove it. At the end of my round I inquired if they removed it and was told no, they had no staff. A potential dangerous situation ignored . A staff problem! The course is still very enjoyable to play!!
Hello. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
Los Caballeros
I have not been to the course in over 20 years. Great layout, great condition, plan to be back soon.

Challenging greens, very scenic
Plenty of challenges.
Most greens are elevated with sloped aprons. The greens are large, firm and hav many undulations.
It is a long course, 7020 from the tips, 6530 from silver and 5885 from gold. The par 5s on the silver are: 500, 540, 560 (in to the wind) and 550. The course is not flat, but long holes are not down hill like Kapalua. So for a senior I should have eaten my pride and played from the gold. (The card lists yellow tees for women. There are no such tees, just a marker in the middle of the fairway. )
Very beautiful scenery. Certainly one of the best in Arizona.
Hello. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
Finished in 3 1/2 hours
We finished an enjoyable round in less than 3 1/2 hours. It would have been even quicker if they hadn't put a twosome in front of us just before we made the turn. Still, how can I complain when we finished in less than 3 1/2 hours? Los Cabellaros is a good track with plenty of challenges. I always take more putting strokes here than almost anywhere else I play. I will beat it someday!

Great day at Los Cabo
Love this course so took three friends to experience it. They loved it too! Just a serene setting for golf and an excellent test of golf. Great condition with enjoyable elevation changes and greens that really make you think.

A good test of all parts of your game!
Los Cabellaros has great diversity in its layout. I would prefer a few less elevated greens, but they definitely give you a chance to tune up on parts of your game that may be missing from many courses. You best be good at reading greens on this course. I can't think of a course I've played with greens that are more challenging. The we in good shape, but lots of movement, and the pin setter must have a bit of a sadistic streak, or maybe had a spat with his wife before coming to work. I had way more three puts than is usual for me. Oh well, we had a good time, and I will definitely return to do battle with Los Cabellaros again.
Hello, Thank you for leaving Los Caballeros Golf Club a 4-star rating. We applaud you for taking on a challenge. Thank you for your business and look forward to seeing you again soon.
I love this course
Excellent practice facilities and a well maintained course. Always enjoyable.
Caballeros Golf Course
Best hidden gem in the wickenburg area. This is the second trip to play this course. This is a course that tenders not only for all skill levels but can not eat the price of play and the scenic views as you hit your golf ball from tee box to green is just inspiring to not want to leave once your done. Course layout and conditions are immaculate even after a rainstorm dropped some moisture. With the time of year most courses look frail and withered from the heat but not here the staff has made it top notch for the golfing community. Take a drive and you wont be disappointed playing here.
Your feedback is important to us, Greg. Thank you for sharing your 5-star experience. We look forward to seeing you again at the course soon! Thanks for choosing Los Caballeros Golf Club and making the drive over.
