Disappointing
We drove 1 hour to get to this course because the website made it look amazing. It isn't, very average course. Tboxes were mangy, fairways had weeds. What was most disappointing was the way we were treated in the pro shop. According to them what I was wearing was not appropriate, no collar on my sleevless shirt, and my skirt was too short, even though it was below my fingertips and covered 1/2 of my upper leg. If we wanted to play I was forced to buy a new shirt and skirt which cost us $80. There was no signs saying the women's shirt had to be collared, and nothing about the length of the skirts. All that was stated outside the pro shop and in the women's bathroom was that there was no bikini tops or tank tops, neither of which I was wearing. I felt the staff at the pro shop was making their own rules, based on what their members liked or disliked. On top of all that, once we started playing there was a foursome behind us that one of the women had short shorts on, that did not cover 1/4 of her upper leg, yet they were allowed on the course. Bottom line, they need to clearly state their dress code and be consistent with all players. They even sold clothing in the pro shop that according to the staff would not meet their dress code on the course.
Los Caballeros
This course is the best value in the southwest! Course conditions, views and pace of play is fantastic!
Course
Very nice great course worth the hour drive from Phoenix .
Bang for your buck!
Can't beat Los Caballeros is a great value this time of year! Course is in great condition and the staff is very friendly and accommodating.
You need to play this track
Really tough course that is a lot of fun. Not too many holes that are obvious birdies. Nearly every green is elevated and add to the overall length of this gem. Greens could be faster but the course is in top top shape otherwise
Tougher than expected
No real issues weather was cooler after the rain Not crowded at all The pins were hard to reach And being new to the lay out we all scored high
First Class Operation
Played a round with my daughter before she left for college. The area had seen heavy rain the night before. Course had drain well and had a few soggy spots. Bunkers (plenty of experience in them today) were mostly dry with soft sand. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were in excellent condition. This is a desert course that does require a fair degree of accuracy. The numerous tee boxes made it fun for me and my daughter who is in her first summer of golf. Ryan and the rest of the staff were first rate. We saw only two other foursomes the whole day. Had lunch in the clubhouse. Again the service was top notch. For the price and hospitality I would much rather make the drive to Wickenburg than play an equivalent price point course in PHX that winds through a housing development.
L.os Caballeros - Great Course!
A great course - very well maintained - and a fun time. Plays like a private course for the speed of play. Worth going out of your way to play.
Beautifull venue
Great course. Pace of play was great, greens were a little slow due to recent sanding. Looking forward to playing the course again and would definitely recommend this course.
wonderful course add more club
wonderful course , it playsnlong and it is more on the difficult side.
An outstanding corse
Best course layout and conditioned course I have played this year in the Phoenix metro area. Tough course to score on because it is an old style one that features almost all elevated greens protected by greenside sand bunkers. One will use all the clubs in your bag. If course was closer to my residence it would become my home course. Staff was professional and excellent and in closing this is a must play course anytime one has the opportunity to do so.
Enough challange for all levels
Really enjoy the layout, elevation changes and degree of challenge you want to take on. Views are excellent as well. Staff was helpful and friendly.
JUST AS I REMEMBERED....
I HAVENT PLAYED LOS CABALLEROS IN MANY YEARS. ONCE WE ARRIVED, THE UNIQUE BEAUTY AND PEACEFULNESS GREETED US AT EVERY TURN. THE COURSE AND FACILITIES WERE TOP NOTCH; AS WELL AS THE STAFF AND VIEWS. WE TEED OF AT NOON AND HAD THE COURSE PRETTY MUCH TO OURSELVES. GREAT DAY OVERALL!
conditions very good
Course was in really good shape! Just an hour from home and a real gem. The greens, fairways and rough were what you would expect to see in the winter... very nice! I'm looking forward to going back.
One of the best layouts in AZ
Definitely worth the drive. Fantastic layout that is very strategic with plenty of options. Difficult but fair. Conditions were excellent for this time of year. Course was wet but understandable seeing they had over an inch of rain the night before. Drainage was very good all things considered. Staff extremely friendly.
Fun course to play
Staff are friendly and helpful. The greens in great shape. Water along the course for drinking and ice and water for the start and turn. We will return to play again.
Value of the year
I've played here before and had forgotten how great it was. Beautiful views, great condition and an awesome layout. The staff in the pro shop were friendly, and the ladies in the restaurant were excellent. We played in under 3 1/2 hours. This used to be a trip I made at least yearly and guarantee it will be back on the calendar!
Scenic
Fun relaxing round almost had course to myself. Caught two foursomes and played through and finished in about 2.5 hours.
Best Course so far this year
Great design. stunning views, strategy is very important. plays longer than the yardage.
The staff was very friendly.
Club atmosphere was very good.
You can impress your buddies with this one.
Must try the homemade potato Chips
The greens were small but very receptive.
The greens ran true. Overall course condition was very good for summer in Phoenix. The lay out is challenging with quit a few bunkers. If you hit straight shots off the tee you should score well. The greens were elevated on most holes and did play longer. Overall will go back
