Palm Course - McCormick Ranch Photo submitted by tainge on 03/29/2013
Unbelievably Slow Golf
The course was over booked and there was no attempt to keep up pace of play. The Pine Course was in terrible shape, and we switched to the Palm to try and finish 18 after a 3:20 front 9. I would not recommend playing either McCormicks.
Our new "go-to" in Scottsdale
The Pines course is fun and challenging. Unlike the Palms course, these greens will hold a shot if you hit them. The 15th hole, we were told, is the toughest hole in Scottsdale according to Phil M. The staff is terrific, amenities are great (have the southwest salad!) and nice to have the driving range and practice greens. Highly recommend.
Challenging greens!
We will play this course again. Conditions were a bit tough due to wind, but it's a fairly forgiving course. The greens were very fast. You want to be below the hole, never putting downhill or the ball will roll off the green. The upside is that they putt very true.Great clubhouse, great staff, nice driving range and a very fun day.
Just okay
I probably wouldn’t play this course again with so many other options in the area
Fun course to play!
Fairways and greens in good shape. Cart Paths a little rough. Staff very friendly. Overall a good experience.
Finally somewhere that respects pace of play
Course was in pretty good shape. Greens were a bit inconsistent speed wise but overall the course was in good shape. They didn’t overbook and pace of play was a perfect 4hr round. Tough to find these days in AZ.
Beautiful course
Played the Palm course. The course was beautiful well maintained and the round included range balls. My major complaint was the pin placement and some of the greens. Some pins were in spots that would not allow a ball to come to rest, if you hit a shot below the hole it was slanted such that if your putt did not go in, it would roll back down the slope and even off the green. And this was on at least 3 holes. To keep play moving we adopted a 3 putt rule. But it did not feel fair. (My 2 cents) But the overall course was really pretty.
Beautiful
We had a fun round. Luckily we were paired with a lovely couple! The pace of play was great! We will definitely go back🏌🏽♂️
Fast greens!
Love this course. Great layout. The greens are very fast!
Challenging but not well maintained
The course layout was fun and very challenging. But the fairways were painted green which was super weird and extremely disappointing. Fairways, rough and greens all bone dry. A few good fluffy sand bunkers, but many were that packed down concrete feel. Just too many other options in the area for me to play this course again anytime soon
Very fast greens
Number 8 on the palms was unfair as the ball on the green could roll into the water. Also number 11, seems like a challenge when you birdie or eagle putt rolled into water hazard.
