Palm Course - McCormick Ranch Photo submitted by tainge on 03/29/2013
This place was AWFUL!! I won't be back!! EVER!!
I have finally had enough of bad conditions at this facility. The course was completely soaked. And Rain had nothing to do with it. There are much better conditions around the valley and much cheaper to boot.
Standing water all over the course. With a smell that's like a sewer. Soaking wet fairways. Standing water in almost every single bunker Greens were slow and wet. Tee boxes were not cut for days. I used an extra tall tee and still had issues trying to get it high enough off of the grass to hit it. This place isn't worth 15 bucks let alone 99.
Great Course
The only issue is the water fountains on the course are hot water coming out.
McCormick
Overall good course. Some improvements would be welcome: water stations, more frequent beverage cart . It is hard to understand that this course is one of the few in Arizona that does not allow walking. This is very backwards.
In great shape but greens were slow. Everything else was perfect!
great day
staff is awesome and the course in in spectacular shape...very playable and great layout
Pace of Play
The back nine on Saturday was slow. Need a marshal on the course pushing players along.
Save your money
It seems like every employee here hates their job. The guy in the pro shop was rude af. The course conditions were below average, and the pace was soooo slow. Made it through about 12 or 13 holes.. for the same price you can golf camelback across the street and have a way better experience.
Avoid this place
Terrible experience from beginning to end. Every employee seemed to hate their job. The guy in the proshop was rude af. The course was in poor condition, putting green was the worst ive seen, standing water in every bunker made them unplayable, tee boxes pretty chewed up. The pace on the back was soooooo slow. Spend the extra money and golf camelback across the street, 100x better experience.
It was worth my time and money.
I actually wasn’t sure what the conditions would be. I arrived to the course with an open mind. It was 101* when i arrived. I checked in 30 minutes prior to my tee time and was given the opportunity to warm up or head straight to the first tee. I opted to hit like 5-7 warm up shots then head to the tee. The course has been through a lot lately but was really surprised on the conditions. 17 of 18 greens were in really good shape. There was only 1 that needed a little help and attention. The greens and fairways were nicely manicured. And the tee boxes were not overly grassy. Just the right amount of grass. Overall it was great experience and would highly recommend the course to other players looking for a course in great summer conditions.
Taxedddddd
Solid track. Cannot complain about conditions this time of year. But omg is it completely overpriced. On a Friday, no bev cart at 1pm, no food at 2pm (need a dog or wrap at the turn cmon), no water jugs on the course and do not even give you a bottle. Way overpriced for what they’re offering. Would rather pay $20 more to hit camelback.
