Resorts at Ventana Canyon: Loews and The Lodge

I'm an 8 handicap and golf all over the USA and this place is at the top of the must play again list! Greens were fast and smooth but would hold a ball, fairways and bunkers perfect. The views from the course are stunning, I saw a Bobcat 30 ft away. Course management is for sure the key here!

The gentleman in the pro shop was wonderful! The rest of the staff was luke warm. The set up for starting the course is laid out poorly. We had to carry our clubs down 2 flights to the pro shop and then down to get a cart. Less than happy staff greeted us. It’s high season. Add some staff!! Restrooms were less than adequate on the course. You finish at 18 and there was no restroom available. We stopped in to the resort to use the restroom and they were filthy. Give me one good reason to return here! You are one of the most expensive rounds in Tucson and delivered the least! Going back to Starr Pass.

It was difficult to concentrate on golf during our first round at Ventana, because I was so distracted by the stunning views.

We played the Canyon course and look forward to returning to play the Mountain course..

Practice facility and starting area were accommodating, and easy to utilize.

Great Desert Track in good condition !

Perfect for stay and play both courses !

A lot of elevation changes and interesting holes. I enjoyed how many of the tee boxes are islands in the desert and you don’t see where you’re hitting until you get to the box.

We saw a bobcat at close quarters which was not at all bothered by golfers.

Only saw a drinks cart once, but there is water at the start and turn.

The restaurant at the Loews entrance to the course was closed, and the one at the Canyon Lodge seems to primarily cater to members, but we were able to get a drink after the round.

Super fast greens, but they tell you that up front...great conditions and whole course was in tip top shape!!! Pace of play was exceptional...we were not rushed and barely saw group in front....I would love to play this more if it was not $200 per person....

This course was in excellent shape. Greens were nice but did not truly hold shots. Not sure if it was me or the greens but could not read/make a putt to save my life (normally a decent putter). Forgiving fairways and pretty nice size greens. Traps were nice too. Plenty of spots on the range with unlimited Callaway balls.

We now have played both courses and both are terrific. The views from the Mountaib Course are much better than Canyon. Course is in excellent condition. I will definitely play here again. Highly recommended.
