Best course in Tucson Area
I live in Oro Valley. This course, by far is the top rated course in the town of Tucson. Bright sunny day, great staff, and plush golf course. Didn't want to go home.
Must play
Do not pass up an opportunity to play this course. The views and elevation changes are stunning. Course was in great shape, very challenging , greens difficult. Love the course should be a five star. Played as a hot deal @60. Bucks, feel like a should mail them another 100. Played with 2 residents who gave me a lot of inside info which saved me a few balls. Buy a course book if it saves you one pro v 1 it's worth it. Course is completely underated
Beautiful Course in Amazing Surroundings
This is a beautiful Tom Fazio designed course, set at the base of the Catalina Mountains - breathtaking. The course was in great condition and it is clearly well managed. The staff was friendly and competent. The practice facility is first class and the amenities are well delivered. The rate (from GolfNow) was very reasonable. I will be back to play the course again.
Course really well manicured
Not overly difficult and the fairways & greens were 5 star.
Nice layout
Difficult but playable . The mountain views are outstanding.
Ventana canyon mountain course
Ventana canyon has two exceptional golf courses, the mountain and the canyon. I played the mountain course at 6000 yards. This was a combination of gold and silver tee boxes. I am a 14 handicap and this setup was perfect for my game. If you play either courses, be sure to bring a camera. The mountain views of the Catalinas are spectacular.
Great place
Great day of golf. Only problem was there was no beverage person on the course.
jewel of a course
If you have trouble on some desert courses having the confidence to to lay into the ball, it won't happen here. The holes welcome a solid hit and give you the confidence to do it. This course is fair to all levels of golfer, just be prudent when you pick your tee and you
will have a great round.
Fairways and greens immaculate
Love playing this course you will too
First time charm
This was my first time and hopefully not
My last....we had a great time even though the pace of play was slow....greens rolled very true and fairways were in excellent shape...worth every dollar...
Great golf course
Love the golf course. Will play it again for sure. Only course I've played in the area that has overseeded rough as well as fairways. The entire course was in perfect condition. Greens are slick.
Excellent course conditions
Very enjoyable layout with tee options to challenge all golfers
Wonderful course with great views
Slick greens (but very true) and fantastic views and course conditions are the hallmark of the Ventana courses. Staff were very friendly and the practice facilities were well maintained. Bring your best putting stroke!!
Never fails you
I have never played Ventana and left feeling that this is a great golf course
Great time
Course was perfect. Greens were amazing, made the game super fun. We did not wait one time on any shot, amazing for a Sunday in the winter in Tucson. If it were not for my sad golf game, the day would have been perfect. 100+ soured the day, this was not Ventana Canyon's fault!! Also my buddy, Gary D. always makes the day fun!!
Enjoyable Challange
The weather was perfect; GolfNow offered a great rate; the course was superb; I just wish my game was as beautiful as this course.
If you like elevation challenges....
Mountain Course played at 6,338 yards (139 rating). Wide fairways, narrow necks, well-guarded and impossible-to-read and slippery greens. Carved out of foothills below steep mountain peaks: the mountain greatly affects the roll of putts. I didn't feel comfortable with any putt over 3 ft -- and missed them all. At first I thought the 139 rating was too high, but in retrospect, the length, guarded greens and impossibly-fast greens probably is accurate. If you want a beautiful and challenging course, play this one.
Very nice resort course
This course was in excellent condition. Fairways are cut higher than most desert courses in Tucson giving it more of an "up north" flavor. Very fast, challenging greens. Generous fairways compared with many "target golf" desert courses. Gorgeous scenery of course. Very much enjoyed it
Best greens ever
The putting is pure. Ball rolls like a pool table. Greens runnng 12. Course conditions are immaculate.
course was on fantastic shape but..
The staff here was super friendly and knowledgeable and the course was in absolutely fantastic shape but the greens were just stupid fast. They were like putting on a pool table and getting approach shots to stick was next to impossible. I am sure your average scratch player would have no problem but us mid handicappers just found it frustrating, and the hole locations were very unforgiving. That being said, if you like that sort of putting surface then the course was flawless. Just not for my game.
