Worse than a cheap muni
Third time this year and punched greens every time. Not needle punched…full size holes. Even with the substantial bumps, large patches of dying greens. Grounds crew were consistently in our line of play, at least five times, and didn’t seem to care or stop. Tee boxes are either beaten down or just low weeds, crab grass, clover leaf, and probably a couple other types of crap grasses. Fairways and around the greens have large areas of dirt, patchy growth, etc. Even the shoe cleaner at the clubhouse has lost all the bristles.
To summarize, conditions were about as good as a cheap muni course in Phoenix. It’s easily the worse Troon course under their management. Three times this year….there won’t be a fourth for at least a year. The only bright side is that the course had only a handful of players. I guess everyone else knew about the conditions.
Amazing views but course needs some TLC
On our way back from the Grand Canyon we stopped here to see the stunning f red rock mountains that frame this course.
The views were truly stunning, the coffee was a fun layout but needs some work on the condition of the fairways and greens to match the views.
Soggy round
The golf course was very green and beautiful. Unfortunately it was also overwatered! Fairways were wet in low points and drives did not run out more than 10-15 yards. Greens felt spongy under our feet and the ball marks were deep and hard to repair. We were told the superintendent was having trouble gauging the amount of water due to the summer monsoon rains.
Overbooked
T-time followed a scramble tournament. Players could buy mulligans which significantly delayed pace of play. Ranger gave up trying to push the tournament through. Significant delays started at 8th hole. We gave up after 12th hole. Nice course. Poorly managed.
Nice layout… that’s it
This course could be a fun track. Really bad greens- slow and nobody fixes their marks. Staff was also very disappointing. Nobody at bag drop and when I asked the outside staff questions they seemed bothered.
Save your money. Play anywhere else but here.
Didn’t know it was an “out and back” course until I arrived. Meaning no clubhouse at the turn. No problem if theres a full stocked cart girl. There’s not. Quiting at 4pm with nothing but crackers and warm tea is not how you take care of golfers that already don’t have a clubhouse to rely on after the front nine. I was starving and out of cold beverages after #11 and every water container at every whole was empty. I quit after #14. It’s ridiculous to treat paying golfers this way especially in 100° summer.
Spectacular views and a great layout. A must play course.
4th of July
Our tee time was 9:36am. after 4 hours we were only on 14 hole and we quit. The temp was 105. I believe there was a 4th of July tournament so a lot of players ahead of us having a good time. The golf course has no control over the weather. The tournament was for regulars and I cannot complain about them having a good time. Sedona Resort is a public course and slow play is an issue on public courses. I just did not want to pay $300 per person at 7 Canyons. We will come back.
Beautiful Course
Started playing before 7am. Course very wet in places. We were even caught by the sprinklers operating when we were trying to play. Not ideal. However, I always enjoying playing this course whenever we come to Sedona, which is often.
A must play in Sedona
Great golf with awesome views to go along with it. Course was in great shape especially the greens. Extremely friendly staff play was excellent. Temperature for the round was 100° but there was enough wind and shade to make the day very bearable
