About Talking Stick Resort & Casino
Just east of Phoenix-Scottsdale, Talking Stick Resort is owned and operated by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. It is among Arizona's largest golf and casino resorts with nearly 500 guest rooms in a 15-story hotel tower, six restaurants, entertainment and pools. Located off the Highway 101 loop, it is conveniently located near Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and many of the area's best golf courses. In addition to nightlife and live casino action at the resort, a Topgolf was recently added to the property as well. The main outdoor pool is large and has live music and DJs during a summer series and cabanas for rent, while there are two smaller pools. Additional amenities include a spa, fitness center and a complimentary shuttle that can transport guests to area attractions. The golf club is located next door and feature 36 holes designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, the Piipash and O'odham. Both golf courses are void of residential development and feature forgiving fairways and greens on native terrain.Facts

The Grill
Disappointed in the clubhouse and the restaurant. Not sure if it is temporary but that is what it seems. Also, when I finished at around 5:00 the grill was closed up and couldn't even stop on for a beverage
Very very disappointed
First of all, it says nothing on the website or when you book it that it is under construction. The golf clubhouse was on some fold out chairs and garbage picnic tables. They had the kitchen cooking out of a trailer and porta potties for us to use we seen the car girl once in 4 1/2 hours For $250 per player at $1000 round the layout and the condition of the course was equal to any of the Suncity courses I would definitely for this price never play this course again and by the time we got to the 17th hole. It was dark out and we weren’t able to finish , very very disappointed for what the website shows the course looks like and what it really looks like. I was very disappointed on top of having to sit in the parking lot with all the construction with their makeshift clubhouse.
Fun course pretty open to rip drives and true greens
18 HOLES
GOOD COURSE, GOOD SHAPE. Starter was able to slip me as single out 1/2 earlier than my tee time thus I was able to play all 18 holes. Otherwise no way. They are remolding clubhouse so not good after golf amenities. The price of progress. Too pricy like all the courses in Arizona. This is peak time but since covid it always seems to be "peak time " of year.
Expected Incredible Course for the price
Was disappointed, quite over-priced for an average course in okay condition (and I paid a discounted price). The play was slow on the 2nd 9 holes too. Would only return if round was greatly discounted.
Range not stocked , A lot of goose droppings to avoid
Average Course
Lots of construction going on, generally average midwestern type course at best.
A great deal of construction in process. Temporary bathroom and pro shop, and eating facilities. Seems like the things should be mentioned, especially since they are going to be in this condition for more than a year. (based on an employee comment). Carts were in poor condition. As a policy, Golf Now should be highlighted where the carts are equipped with GPS.
Decent course but golf carts poop out!
The course is fine and would make for a fun round for most anyone. Challenging but not so much. Pace of play good but not perfect. Diversity of holes good but not great. However ... many of the golf carts don't have the juice to make for a complete round! I had to push my cart back to the clubhouse from the 15th hole. The battery had a little charge left so that helped. But we wouldn't have made it if I hadn't pushed the cart back! I want to say that I would definitely play the course again if I have the chance. But when I returned the cart, I got no considerations -- just the comment that this happens to many here! Very disappointed.
Not worth it
Fairways were beat up in a lot of places and pretty much every green was full of divots and pock marks. To pay the December rate and have a blah layout combined with conditions and slow play I won’t be back. I’ve played many AZ courses when I visit and played better courses for the same or less money. Don’t waste your time.
Beautifully maintained
Of the seven courses that we visited, this was the greenest. It is beautifully maintained. The fairways were very large and pace of play was regular. The staff were really friendly and organized. We would definitely return to play.
Cart path only seriously?
Not lazy, no pulls carts available so it's cart path only.
Very big fairways. 16,465 steps.
HAVE PULL CARTS AVAILABLE
Played a round in the morning at Desert Ridge and it was carts anywhere!
Someone from the crew needed to get out there and see that the course was not WET! Worst case 90 degree
Ruined the day!
