Eighteen green Photo submitted by Rosey461 on 06/16/2014
107 degrees
we played on a 107 degree day. that was our mistake. they had pippish closed down along with the driving range and putting green. that stuff happens in Az. in Sept. 6500 yards was long for us but the fairways are wide and playable despite the length. got a great deal on golf now. would definitely play again.
Not a bad option
I wouldn't go out of my way for Talking Stick but if you are in the area, it's worth playing.
The Stick
Great course but the range and practice putt area were both closed. Totally unacceptable for the price
Very Nice
Great staff and amenities. Course played well and was in very good shape. Driving range closed for seasonal overseed, it’s my personal curse that all first time visits have closed ranges.
Well kept and up to date amenities
Really enjoyed this course. Very rustic feel. Could use more signage and water stations along the way to hydrate. Lots of standing water with visible pumps as well.
Greens and fairways well maintained. Very nice and clean up to date club house. Overall. You won’t be disappointed.
Beautiful course rude staff
Course was in great shape pro shop and club house staff friendly however the starter irritated us with the instant disrespectful attitude and sending the ranger 3 minutes into a 3 some saying how we’re holding up pace of play and to pick up and move on. Ranger met up with us a few times and he was super cool after the first interaction without the starter yapping in his ear.
Amazing course but hot!
Great course and because of the heat we were able to get an amazing rate. Would love to play again when the weather is cooler.
Great course, Excellent staff!
All of the staff we interacted with were great. They all made playing Talking Stick the right choice. I look forward to going back and playing the other course.
Fantastic course
Championship course, great views, friendly staff. Must play when in The Valley.
In great shape, layout of O’odham course is very open, bring out the driver. Amazing views of the McDowell mountains. Overall great course
An enjoyable round during the la or weekend
It was nice to get back to this golf course and found it in good condition. Besides, earring in mind high temperatures in the area plenty of water was handed out by the Marshall during the round.
Great shape
Course was in excellent shape considering the time of year. Staff was excellent and the updated grill was amazing.
Review of Talking Stick
The course was in great condition. Greens were very large and pretty fast and hard. The property is very flat and many of the holes seem to be indistinguishable from each other.
Customer service...Pairing golfers up
I know after Covid each golfer had their own cart. Not sure when Talking Stick changed but I believe you need to be respectful that if someone wants their own cart you should allow them to have one just like you have in the past. You've had enough carts in the past. I'm sure I'm not alone but I do not appreciate golfing with someone I don't know drinking a lot and vaping next to me while we I'm in the cart.
Great option in Scottsdale
Course is in great shape and brand new clubhouse. Friendly staff and beer cart person.
Will definitely play here again.
Pretty good course
Overall, the course was well maintained and easy to access. The tee boxes and fairways were well watered and green. The greens were drier and the dirt harder than the rest of the course. The ball would frequently roll off the back of the green instead of biting. We had to aim for the ball to land prior to the green then hope it would hold on the greens. Pace of play was ok, but could have been better. The marshal should have sped up the group ahead, but just drove past them each time. The layout is flat and honestly, a bit boring. Felt like a well watered muni course.
Of all the courses we played in this area, I wouldn’t pick this one to play again.
