About Talking Stick Resort & Casino
Just east of Phoenix-Scottsdale, Talking Stick Resort is owned and operated by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. It is among Arizona's largest golf and casino resorts with nearly 500 guest rooms in a 15-story hotel tower, six restaurants, entertainment and pools. Located off the Highway 101 loop, it is conveniently located near Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and many of the area's best golf courses. In addition to nightlife and live casino action at the resort, a Topgolf was recently added to the property as well. The main outdoor pool is large and has live music and DJs during a summer series and cabanas for rent, while there are two smaller pools. Additional amenities include a spa, fitness center and a complimentary shuttle that can transport guests to area attractions. The golf club is located next door and feature 36 holes designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, the Piipash and O'odham. Both golf courses are void of residential development and feature forgiving fairways and greens on native terrain.Facts

Miss lend
I would not waste your money on this course. It is a resort type of course wide fairway and no personality. Also, there was no notice that they had the driving range and putting green closed. For the money I paid everything should have been top notch.
Fantastic
Played for $72 including unlimited range balls.Course immaculate and very playable. Service outstanding. Only negative was super slow bermuda greens. Had 84 with 4 three putts that didnt even reach the hole. Played in 3 hours as a twosome and didnt see another person playing all day.
Staff professionalism needs help!
Good golf day today despite the rude and unfriendly Starter! Not sure why, but NOT one of the staff including cart and range as well as the proshop staff were smiling or friendly. Clubhouse and all areas of parking are under contstruction and the only facility up and running was the snack shack which is where the makeshift proshop is set up. Course was still, however in great condition, greens and fairways were the best part. Bunkers need some more sand but overall were in average and playable condition. I would advise the Head Pro and owners to re-evaluate all staff positions and/or make them go through training to become more attentive and professional to the golf patrons who are paying a lot of money to golf at their golf course. With all of the choices for golf competing with this golf course I would say on the whole the course and staff combined get 2.5 stars :(
Nice layout. Good pace of play.
Greens recently cored. Should have been discounted price or atleast mentioned when booking.
Golf
The course was fast and pretty forgiving. I would definitely play again.
Decent course. Simple layout.
Greens recently cored and should have been discounted price.
Mostly good.
Greens recently aerated so did not roll true. Course looked like it needed water. But to be fair it is August in Arizona so a little dry looking could be expected
South Course
This course is long and wide open. The fairways and greens are very well maintained. I found it to be very forgiving allowing a chance to recover from an errant shot. Check out their player development program for very reasonable green fees late in the day when it gets cooler in the fall. Beautiful sunsets. People are very gracious. Can’t wait to see the new club house once completed. Respectfully.
Overall very nice
We enjoyed it! The greens were a little hard and sandy but besides that no complaints. Would definitely play here again
Clubhouse Construction
We played the O’odham course. There is major construction on the clubhouse, check-in and bathrooms are trailers next to the parking lot. The major inconvenience is the first bathroom on the course is on the 12th hole.
The fairways were very lush, greens still recovering for aeration - a little slow and fuzzy. There is a big yardage gap for the forward tees. It would be nice to have a jade-rust combo.
Boring
So many of the holes played the same - distance, layout, hazards, etc. I can’t recall any hole that was memorable or unique because they were all so similar, with nothing special about any of them
Pace of play different on back
The front side went well, but the last 7 holes took forever. We were playing as a fivesome!
Great course
Course is in great condition and the clubhouse is under construction, so I am not penalizing on the rating as the temporary amenities accommodate. Staff is great.
Great course. Definitely like the south course better than the north.
