The Boulders Resort & Spa Scottsdale

I have golfed this course many times and this is the 1st time Im leaving being highly disappointed!

First the Good-

Friendly Staff checking In and at Bag Dropoff

Front 9 we cruised, 2hrs and 10 mins. Big thumbs up to that!

Now the Bad-

Back 9 they let out Members (Waited over 15mins to Tee off after Front 9) than waited anywhere from 5 to 8mins on every Tee Box

Course wasnt in the Best of Conditions

Fairways were good

Greens really bad and alot of dead spots on them, Fringe was Mud or Crab Grass and couldnt putt thru most of it

Bunkers next to No Sand, alot of Rocks and Grass in them

Stopped in for a Bagel at turn and Bartender had the Personality of a Stale Bran Muffin

And with all the Not Good above they still charged 119, Course shouldve been No more than 70 bucks at best

Hopefully they turn things around as this is Normally a really great Course

We reside in the N Phoenix/Scottsdale area during the winter. We decided to play Boulders while there in August to help a family member move. Rate was $89 vs $200+ in winter. Its a nice layout with beautiful scenery. Course condition was good but perhaps not as good as I would expect from an exclusive high end resort. We enjoyed it, glad we played it but its one & done for us as I don't think its a good value at the price.

Fun course, a few greens had dead spots on them with some sort of crab grass growing. The fairways were in excellent condition.

We had lunch at the restaurant after our round. The service was terrible for no one being in the restaurant. We waited for our drinks, then waited for our food, then waited for our check. Finally, I got up and went and chased down the waiter to get our check so we could leave! Not good!

Greens are unkept full of ball marks and very slow. Pace of play 5 plus hours unwarranted. Need to space the tee times out further and push the poor players more. I won’t be back!

Course is challenging but fair, greens were very good and staff was helpful. I can’t get enough of the centerpiece of the “boulders” and the way the course is situated around them. You won’t be disappointed!

Everyone that works there was super nice. The course layout is amazing. The views are unreal! After 2 holes I knew I was coming back. The fringes right now are messed up not sure why but that’s the only issue with the course. I’m going back tomorrow!

I love this course, both North and South. Not easy, but fair and the best views around!

The boulders course was amazing! Had the opportunity to the play the south course and it was absolutely awesome! Loved some of the elevated tee shots with the boulders right next to you. I am a 10 handicap and ended up with an 86 for my first round at the boulders, the course proposed a challenging layout which I enjoyed very much. I will definitely be back soon to play again. My only wish would be lowering the rates even more during the summer time

Played Troon North yesterday and The Boulders today. Greens were not as fast as Troons but just as smooth and soft. Course was in really good shape. I actually think The Boulders layout is as good as Troon North with several holes that are just incredible. Really impressed with this layout. Fun course to play and also pretty challenging. Would highly recommend The Boulders for sure!
