About The Boulders Resort & Spa Scottsdale
Located in Carefree just north of Scottsdale is the Boulders Resort, a Curio Collection hotel by Hilton. This 1,200-acre resort and community features striking, millions-year-old boulder formations and two, 18-hole golf courses that encircle them. The resort is a village compound with spacious casitas with private balconies, as well as a handful of villas and homes for rent. The golf club features two courses, the North and South, as well as a driving range and golf academy. Boulders is well known for its Golden Door Spa with 33,000 square feet and 24 treatment rooms, plus a wide variety of fitness classes and programming. There are five dining concepts, highlighted by the Spotted Donkey Cantina, well known locally for its Mexican fare. Condition of greens
My only reason for not giving course a 5 star is the condition of the greens. Sub par for a course of this caliber and cost.
Needs a ranger
Played front in 2 hrs, with twosome and threesome in front of us. These groups then morphed into a fivesome on back, kept telling us they were being held up, but we saw no one in front of them. NO RANGER ON COURSE. Back took 2:45. This is a high class place and should be
a high class experience without having to be behind a bunch of Wallies who make their own rules.
Need a ranger
Guys in front of us started as a twosome and a threesome. We played front in two hours. Then they morphed into a fivesome and played the back at about a 2:40 pace. They kept saying somebody in front of them was holding them up but we never saw them. When we finally passed them on 18 as we were running out of light, it was completely open. The hole is a long par five. I’ve been visiting the Boulders for over 25 years and this is not what I have come to expect. I’m sure the reason will be “it’s because of the Covid.”
So your answer for not having a ranger and letting a group play as a fivesome is "they were about on our 4.5 hour pace". Nice!

Super slow pace of play. Conditions just above average for the $$
We all know golf in Phoenix area is extremely overpriced but we do all pay it. Played the North Course which is unfortunately Inferior to the South Course. Conditions were average with slightly bumpy firm greens. Thoroughly enjoy the beauty of the area but if you are put on the North course would take a pass until you can get on the South. Pace of Play was not good waited every shot and tee'd off 25 minutes late so barely finished before dark and we had booked a tee time where we should have easily finished.

The North and South course both have been ranked in the top 100 golf courses and it depends who you ask to what course they prefer. Unfortunately we cant control mother nature and we had a frost delay that pushed tee times back 25 minutes. Our expected pace of play is 4.5 hours and according to our GPS the pace was was a few minutes over 4.5 - Hope to See you again soon.
Beautiful but a little speedy and a slow round. Always busy. Always a 4:50+ hour round.
Nice course. Some narrow fairways make it tough for those who spray the ball.

Nice layout but pace was an issue.
Our tee time was 12:40 and we finished at 5:25. 4:45 can’t be the normal pace.
Greens condition were not as nice as I was expecting for an upscale course.
