punched greens
Played Thursday July 25 with wife. Greens just punched, very bumpy. Bought time through golf now or would have left when pro shop told us about greens. Played front in around 2 hours behind a fast threesome which was behind a slow 4some. Got to 10th tee and saw an 8 some teeing off. Yes , i also couldnt believe it. AN Eightsome. Drove cart back to clubhouse and informed cart boys, one of them didnt seem too concerned. Bottom line is we left. Wont be back , ever.
Recently Aerated - Avoid!
Neither GolfNow nor the Phoenician website alert one to the current condition of the course. Fairways and greens were recently punched and neither have recovered well at all. The greens are like playing a game of Plinko. Tee boxes are not in good condition, either. Very disappointed for the money. A short drive up to the Fountain Hills area will yield courses that are on the top courses to play lists at the same or less summer price.
Nice course
Tee boxes were not well taken care but otherwise it was fine
Great course
Besides playing at 110F, the course is amazing. Really had fun playing it. Greens are fast and fairways pretty wide.
HOT AND SLOW
Tee’d off at 12. Been playing rounds all over phoenix last month at 12-1230 because i want cheap rates and everyone plays in 3 hours on 18 almost all the courses in this heat. It’s hot and MOVE. Not here… it’s resort style, people on vacation, being slow. Took 5 hours to play 18. Maybe play later in afternoon when no one is playing? This course can be played in 2.5 hours easily if no one to slow you down.
Pace of play
Resort course that's in bad shape and pace of play is bad
Signage was excellent
Signage was excellent for first time visitors to the course. Carts were very nice (GPS was very helpful in blind spots). Disappointed though that food/drink was not available at the turn.
Worth It
Course is worth it. Little tricky finding the next holes some times… but other than that… great top to bottom. Saw the cart girl(s) 6 different times… they were super nice and helpful. The guys at the cart barn were super cool and nice. Green were soft and receptive and true rolling. It was 105 out. Hard to find courses with soft greens at the moment.
Well manicured course with very friendly staff. Complimentary bottled water on the course was a nice amenity. Had a great time at the course.
