Beautiful

The Phoenician golf course is a particularly beautiful course. It Winds all around Camelback Mountain. The course is in good shape and the staff is lovely. Play was a little slow on this day because of over seeding so play was on cart path only. This required a lot more walking and more time, but that will soon be over.

Love Luv Love This Place

This is one of my favorite places to play golf. This is golf at it's best. The staff is very accommodating. From the moment you arrive they greet you a make you feel that you are going to have a great day. The courses speak for themselves all you have to do is play them you will love them. there are 27 hole all have unique features that set up to say wow i must do that again. There are plenty of looks ( uphill, downhill ,dogleg left, dogleg right. water, blind shots, huge undulating greens. bodacious sand traps and a wide variety of challenges that will make you have a memorable adventure at one of the premiere golf facility resorts in the world.
Did I mention that I LOVE This Place?

Slow play at 9 holes only

Disappointing to learn at the resort only, that we had to play not an 18 hole course but 2x 9 holes at the Canyon course.
Golfnow didn't mention anything on the website about that by selling the round as " Phoenician Canyon/Oasis ", bad service!
We had to wait at each of the 18 holes, when I mentioned that returning to the bag drop after 18 holes, I only got an impertinent answer!
Nice view on some of the holes.
I doubt to come back

An error in the listing

The GolfNow posting said that I'd be playing 2 different 9s (of the 3 courses at the facility) but when I arrived at the course I was told that only 1 of the 9s was open and that the same 9 was to be played twice. No refund was offered, but we were told we'd be 'comped' anything that was on the beverage cart. This turned out not to be the case - only a single beverage was offered to us. Excuse me but a free beer does not make up for someone's error.

Stacked up the side of the mountain

Fairways run parallel for three of the holes. Had a few balls hit into our group. Bunkers were in bad condition as well. I know it's overseed but it you only have one of the three nines open I expected it to be in better condition. Course was scenic but honestly other than the over water par threes I didn't enjoy the layout.

Great course

The course was in good shape and somewhat challenging. The pace of play was horrible. We were backed up 3 groups deep at a few holes, but overall it was an enjoyable round.

Fun course for all golfers

While The Phoenician golf course isn't a long course, it still has it's unique character. Several holes were very fun to play and many required a fairly well placed tee shot to be able to stay in the fairway or to stay out of trouble. There are several holes that play about 500 yards from the back tees so you will still use your driver about half of the time, but fairway woods off of tees isn't unheard of. Some of the Par 3's are very challenging and long with some good elevation changes. Greens were very well maintained and some were very tough to putt on. One of the guys in my group had a 5 putt on one of the greens because the pin was placed in a very difficult spot and if you ran your putt past the hole more than a foot, it was going to the front edge. The course definitely challenges your short game at times. Overall, I would recommend this course! Great views of the valley on several holes as well!

Green and Plush

This course was beautiful. The Canyon 9 was outstanding. One of the nicest I have ever played. The Desert 9 was a little tricky but still nice. Staff was very polite and helpful. Price on Golf Now was fantastic. If I lived in the valley I would play this course often.

Worth Checking Out

Decent course in the Scottsdale area, the Canyon nine was nice with number nine being one of the hardest par 5's I have played in a while.

The Desert nine gets a little wacky almost amusement park like on holes 5, 6, 7, 8. I wasn't a fan of the way those holes were laid out.

Impossible course to walk, and the course is not marked well in the fairways particularly.

Overall though definitely a course worth checking out if you have some downtime.

great day

we played this course a few days after the wettest day that Phoenix has experienced, with flooding all over the area. The Canyon course was in excellent shape while the Desert Course still needed some attention but very playable. the course offers views of the city that is fantastic. a very enjoyable day and would recommend highly the course

Greens in Great Shape

You think to course is short from the scorecard. But it plays a lot longer. Great greens and fairway in good shape for the summer. Wonderful views. Friendly cart girl.

Respectable for Mid-summer

Tee to green in Very good shape. Rough had a few bare areas. Greens had a few bare spots, especially on holes in mountain areas. Greens a bit bumpy but very playable. Great scenery and views on mountain holes.

Nice course

Nice course beautiful resort. Beers are way over priced but overall good experience. Friendly staff pretty solid pace of play and convenient location. Desert and canyon are my person favorites but oasis is a nice 9 holes as well. Course is always in excellent condition, greens were rolling perfectly, free range balls which should be expected at courses of this caliber but sometimes aren't included. Cart girls are always friendly and did mention a beer special which saved us quite a bit compared to their normal pricing. A must play if trying to stay in Scottsdale or Phoenix and want to be close to attractions and bars/restaurants.
