Brown Fairway. I think this is the 9th fairway but it is typical of all fairways. Photo submitted by sherpaboy on 02/12/2022

The worst
The worst! do not play unless you want to quit playing golf!
Bumpy ride
Ranger finder bounced off magnetic hold several times. Fairways and cart paths are miserable bumpy rides.
Golf at Carlton Oaks
Great day on the course with my son. Friendly staff and cart girl had a great personality. Front 9 pace was really good but, the back 9 was really bogged down. My son was hoping to order from the restaurant at the turn but it didn't open until 11:00 so that was a bummer. We will book again soon.
....Was a Nice Day........
...joined up with a fine 3-some, it was pretty green out there, kinda rough in places. best to be in the fairway on most holes. greens were good tho a bit bumpy at times. It played good but a couple of holes got me good...did it in 4.5hr on a weekday........
Horrible pace
Thought I would give it another chance after 3 years. We quit on hole 14 after 4 hours of slow play. Design is bumps and mounds and not much fun
Highly recommend
Highly recommend the best bang for your buck for the quality and course toughness with cart included. It is a tough course but very fun to play, unfortunately it was raining mid way through the round but still had fun.
Carlton Oaks Santee golf
Bunkers need attention, and greens starting to dry out,
Some iffy spots in fairways but overall decent deal.
Need a kidney belt to play with cart.
Bumpiest course on the west coast. My laser finder bounced off the rail several times. Even the concrete paths were uneven, broken and bouncy.
This course needs a lot of wirk
Played this course 10 years ago and it was great. It appears that at some point course maintenance was severely neglected. The fairways are now in poor shape. Greens were not bad but all the sand traps were atrocious. The staff in the golf shop and restaurant were very friendly and helpful. The $35 greens fee in an area where other courses are charging $200+ makes it a worthwhile play for anyone not looking for a “country club” experience. I hope they can get this course back in shape soon because it has a nice layout in a beautiful setting.
Good course for a reasonable price
I played 9 holes recently with a couple of my friends. We started on time, and pace of play was excellent. The fairways and greens were in great shape. The bunkers had wet sand and was hard to play from. Apart from this, we had an overall great experience. Would play here again.
carlton oaks
Getting better, great french fries and still great value.
Santee Golf
Course was in decent shape. Good pace of play as it was not crowded.
