Carlton Oaks has a long history of tournament golf. Curtis Strange won the 1974 NCAA Championships on the course before Perry Dye redesigned the layout and stretched it to 7,400 yards in the 1980s. This course is not being maintained
Fairways have no grass and the carts are falling apart. It's in horrible condition.
The price should be $30
Natural environment taking over
Really need to work on getting rid of all the dusty sand everywhere. Lots of bare spots. Greens good. Tee boxes so so. Overall ok.
I had to quit after 14 holes because my back was killing me from riding the cart over all the above the fairways are terrible. The greens are bad.
adequate after 14 it got backed up and also course was bumpy. My back was killing me from riding the cart. They need to work on the Fairways.

Decent course
Teed off at 6:10 AM as a single and completed 18 by 8:30 . Nice layout, fairways dry and bad lies, picked up my ball to place in decent lies while on the fairway. Greens okay but lots of obstacles between your ball and the hole. Overall had an enjoyable round at a fair price.

Dried out
Fairways bare of grass. Course so bumpy that my rangefinder got thrown off a few times. Only one of the four water jugs had water. Two were missing entirely.
Early morning solo round
Got to play 18 in a shocking amount of time as I didn’t have much waiting for others and able to practice more than usual as there was no pressure behind me. Great morning spent and would recommend but only if it’s a non-busy day.

Painfully slow
I have played Carlton Oaks many times and it is clearly going down hill. The fairways are brown and dead. The pace of play is horrible and not enforced. We had to wait 20 minutes at each hole to tee off and gave up by the 12th hole and nearly 4 hours. I doubt I will waste my money or time here again.
Course in Rough Shape
Cart paths in place but concrete broken up and rough in places. Fairways in avarage shape but off fairways were rough. Lots of gofer holes.
Good first impression
A good mix of dog legs, water hazards, and holes where you need to play smart layup shots. I will say thebunkers could use some fresh sand and there were so.e bare spots in the fairways, and the greens were slow the day I played. However, this course is fun and will force to play smart golf to score well.
