About Cimarron Golf Resort

Guests of the Cimarron Golf Resort will be comfortable at the Staybridge Suites Cathedral City, an extended-stay hotel that is the perfect alternative to corporate apartments or restrictive vacation rentals. All 197 units include a full-sized fridge, microwave, stovetop and dishwasher. A Raintree Vacation Club with two bedroom condos and the Worldmark Cathedral City hotel are also available onsite. The golf courses, the 6,700-yard Boulder course and the 3,000-yard executive Pebble course, are set to a backdrop of the San Jacinto Mountains.

Excellent Executive Course

If played from the back tees, you will use every club in the bag. It has 17 par 3's ranging in distance from 100 to 210 yards and 1 par 4. It is well maintained and lush.

Great views, course is a little patchy

Fun course with great views. If the winds are up it is super difficult. Greens are nice, fairway and tee box have some lumpy patches. Overall good value compared to other similarly priced courses.

Cimarron Golf Course- Boulders

Overall a good experience. Course seemed to be in good shape. A few of the tee box markers were set on uneven surfaces, number 17 for example we had to step back and tee up well behind the markers to avoid having one foot above the other. Not sure why you’d ever place markers that way. Staff were great and food service was good. The beverage cart person drove up the middle of the fairway a few times instead of the cart path. Thought that was odd. Look forward to playing the Pebble course someday.

Shotgun start group put out just ahead of us

We should have had time to get the full 18 in with a 12:15 start time. But they made us wait for a shotgun start group. We could have started on #6 and bypassed them but they wouldn’t allow. So we had to wait on every hole. Sometimes 2 groups on the tee!!! So, by 4:35 we were on #16 when I had to pack it in with darkness approaching. Too bad because it’s a good course in great condition.

Nice executive course. Always fun to play, but extremely slow pace of play. Had to wait on every hole with two open holes ahead. Need a Marshall. Course was in good shape and greens run true.
