Course
Loved the course layout but the fairways weren’t much better than the rough.
poor condition
The fairways are sparce and the layout is unusual in places. Some holes are very punishing without a safe place to play to
Looking for warm dry golf
I found the warm dry golf I was looking for but the course could have used some of our Oregon rain. The pace was good, the greens were very fast and the course challenging. I’ll try some other place this week for comparison, hopefully it will be better.
4th Round
Course has a little bit of everything. lots of sand, lots of water, doglegs left and right, fast greens
All that is lacking are the fairways, they are a bit sketchy in places (bare lies)
Poor service
Booked a 1:40 time and was confirmed only to show up and be told we were going out at 2:20. The course did not honor the time and because of this only finished 14 holes rather than the 18 my group booked. No accountability for this change and was made to like I was being rude for asking why the time had been pushed 40 mins.
Payment & start time
2 of our group were charged $75.00 for their round even though the booking said $59.00. Only I was given that rate. Although I had booked a 12:40 tee time we were marked as a 1:00 tee time & did not actually tee off until 1:15. The whole starting process was quite dis organized.
Wow, who runs this place?
Where do I begin? I prefer to write positive reviews, but I haven't ever experienced this kind of service while golfing. I am a lady golfer, 15 hdcp and I have played all over the western United States. When we arrived they couldn't give us a cart key because they were out of carts. We had to lug our bags up a cart path to the proshop. The range was closed down because they had to manually pick up the balls in an area where the tractor couldn't reach. A minimal chipping area and a reasonably nice putting area. Our tee time was 30 min delayed(turned into 45 min delay). The Starter area was all jumbled up and there was an irate golf throwing down F-bombs and said this mess happens all the time here. The course had large areas where there was no grass and you played off of dirt. Many holes took 3+ minutes to drive to. Saw a Marshall once, the ladies in front of us were extremely slow and they didn't pick up when they were putting and were never told to hurry up. I found the staff condescending and didn't care if any golfer was inconvenience due their inability to make the field run more efficiently. No I will not return there to play.
The greens are in fairly good shape but the rest of the course is in pretty tough shape. Also, lots of narrow fairways and water hazards that are tough to see for a first time player.
Play somewhere else
Play somewhere else!! You will pay more, but it's worth it. We thought the course was in horrible condition. Looks neglected. Fairways are beat up.
Cathedral Calamity
Course is in fair to poor condition overall. Little to no turf on fairways, tee boxes in fair condition, greens hard. An old course that could still be great but ????
Do not pay anything near full price for this course.
GOOD , CHALLENGING LAYOUT
This is the second time I've played here and little has changed - except the 10th hole which was shortened. The course is challenging with decent length from the white tees and lots of water that comes into play often. Pro shop and bar staff were friendly and helpful. Down-side? Conditioning is marginal. The greens were pretty good (6.5/10) but the tees and fairways could use some work (and water). If the course was in better condition it would be a go to place to play rather than an inexpensive alternative.
enjoyable golf
The course is a little short of grass which makes it hard to try and use a wedge for those short shots. The greens are quite fast.
