Inferior
First. I arrived 2 hours early. The starter treated a Golf Pass customer as "second tier", and refused to allow me to use an electric cart as I was "too early". That is nuts, there were LOTS of carts available.
Second. The fairways have little grass in many areas. Compare this to nearby Desert Springs ($65/ round), where the fairways are in great condition everywhere.
Overall, a below average course, which better fits $39/round charge, not $75. There was a sign up at the clubhouse asking $39 to play in an upcoming shotgun tournament.
It was not nice that the clubhouse folks who take your money treated a Golf Pass customer so shamefully. They could easily has have smiled, provided a cart. If I could have cancelled with Golf Pass 1 hour in advance, I would have.
I will not return to Cathedral golf course. There are better courses nearby at less cost, with nicer staff.
Cathedral Canyon
Booked this deal with a Golfnow Cyber Monday deal at $61. The course charged extra for range balls, which is unusual for Palm Desert courses, and the range was in bad shape. The restaurant was closed and no beverage cart on the course. The course is located in part of the "wash" area adjacent to the aquaduct. Located in an older community.
Worth playing
Well maintained course with you excellent greens. Speed of play was a little slow. Would have been nice to have a beverage card on the course. No way to call ahead for food either. Very friendly staff.
Course was a good value, greens were smooth, good pace, not overly fast or slow! Some work being down on the course around hole 10! Fairways were in good shape, not resort like but fair! Rough lines were haggard. Overall enjoyed the course for a warmup into the next courses I’ll play!
Good public course
Range
Is adequate.
Good
Greens
Could use some maintenance
Attractive back nine
Tee boxes are fine
Fairways fairly wide, hard, good roll. Not too smooth.
Greens faster, and good, enjoyable
Nocart on a Saturday afternoon. No marshal. Pace of play reasonable
Could be better with little effort
No water on the course, No ball washers on the course. Some sand traps had plenty of rock and pebbles with very little sand.
Disappointed
Have played course several times. This time greens fees were significantly higher. Nearly double. Pace of play was really bad with no Marshals. No food service after round at 11:30 even though restaurant signage said open at 11:00.
