Friendly staff, Great course conditions. No complaints at all. Would definitely play again
Love this course but currently in need of repairs.
Greens still healing from aeration. Bunkers are not playable. Lots of mud/soft ground. Tee boxes need to be leveled. Beer needs to be cheaper 👍🏻. Aside from that...this is still a beautiful course and their rates somewhat reflect the current conditions. Decent bang for buck.
Needs some attention
It had been probably 6 months since I last played Greenhorn Creek. I was amazed how much the course deteriorated in this amount of time. The greens were soft with lots of bare spots. Ball marks were hard to fix as the grass seemed to fall apart in the process. I tried to fix as many as I could once on the green. Didn’t seem like many players were fixing any to the courses defense. Lots of wet/muddy areas in the fairway. Sand traps were hard unraked with weeds growing inside. Pace of play was slow. Really bogged down on the back. 3 hours to finish that 9. The hot deal price was perfect for the conditions. It would be hard to pay more. With a little TLC the course could get back to championship conditions.
I drove 2 and a half hours and wasn't able to warm up on the driving range. The course needs work. Lots of bald spots on the course. The bunkers were awful! Not enough sand and very hard. Course has potential! Needs work!
The greens were in bad shape and the bunkers were all very wet. They need to reduce their prices accordingly.
Disappointing
Tee time and check-in was easy. Decent selection of supplies and swag in the proshop. Drink cart person only seen twice in 4 hours with light play on the course. Bunkers are beyond bad. Hard pan and grass throught most. Greens obviously are fighting through fungus issue. Course flooded in many areas due to overwatering. I used to love this course but obviously there is a reason the parking lot was half empty on Saturday, with ideal weather.
Difficult course
Course was in excellent condition but some unrepaired ball masks on the greens. It was over 100 degrees Fahrenheit when we played. There should have been more drinkable water on the course. It is a wonderful setting and I enjoyed playing.
Good course
This is a course I always try to play when I’m in the area. Probably 4-5 holes you need to play a few times to know how to play them. Traps need work Overall a good value.
Nice to be back home.
Only negative would be players not repairing their ball marks. Playing by myself and nobody behind me, I was able to fix several on each hole.
Great midweek round
The course was in great condition considering the back to back heat waves. The greens have some ball mark damage but there are signs for others to fix their marks, guess many just haven’t done so. The fairways and tee boxes are in great shape. The bunkers could use some new sand, they were hard to get out of considering the density of the sand. Great round.
Worth the drive
Greenhorn Creek is a hidden gem. Great layout, somewhat challenging. The views are amazing. Multiple signature holes. Course conditions almost always excellent. Definitely a worthwhile course to play!
Great course for the money
Greenhorn is a great layout well designed course with nice amenities. Would definitely recommend to my w
I really enjoy Greenhorn
The people are nice the course is taken care of its always fun to play here
Slow play
I've played this course many times. Yesterday I happened to get behind two foursomes that were taking nearly 30 minutes a hole. Several players ahead just gave up, warned me on their way off the course about the slow play ahead and wished me good luck. Some people are totally oblivious to their surroundings. They will walk out to check a ball, yep my ball, walk back to the cart, select a club, walk back out to the ball, then hit. I'll be standing on the tee box while they are in the bathroom, come out, go to the ladies tees s l o w l y tee off...that was it for me, i will never play again with slow rude players ahead of me. They need marshals like they used to have.
3 day golf outing
A group of 12 of us drove only 3 hours through beautiful forest country ,from Reno to Angels Camp . Great accommodations at the Vrbo's and the Caddyshack we stayed in. Nice dinner at the restaurant on course as well. We have been doing annual trips there for a while now and had more fun than a barrel of monkeys .
Great Buddies Golf Trip
We had a great time at Greenhorn Creek this past weekend. The course was in excellent condition, especially the greens. The greens were smooth and fast.
Solid course
Exceeded my expectations for an angels camp course. Good mix of trees and open fairways so I didn’t lose my ball on every hole. Well kept course, carts weren’t run down. Will be back
