course and staff were great.
Only thing missing was a cart girl and pace of play was a little slow.
Golf Course is Awesome!! Staff Sucks!!!
I played Greenhorn for the first time, I love the layout: Fast Greens and fairway is well maintained. Pace of play was awesome. But be aware of the staff. I had a Golf Moose coupon for 2 players, when I checked in I was told it expired. I had to ask can I pay the difference, the person who check me in insisted I needed to pay full price. So I asked him one more time that I had pre-paid for my round and please read my disclaimers. After he looked at my golf moose coupon he told me he can take off $65 toward my round. So I paid and moved on (Strike #1).
After my round me and friend decided to have lunch at the restaurant. We where greet and sat for 1 hr before we were given a menu. The waitress came and took our order 30 minutes later, with 2 glasses of water. So we waited for another 30 minutes to get our meal. My friend crispy chicken was burnt crispy, so he complained and they took it back. The waitress brought him another sandwich with half the size of the first sandwich. We both finish our meal and we asked to refill our glass of water, so she came back and refilled it and it tasted badly. It tasted like we drink water from a garden hoses. We paid our bill with no tip (Strike #2).
We then sat at the bar to get a glass of beer I ordered what I wanted and paid. The bar tender didn’t give my receipt and I ask him that my glass of beer was charged $30.00 he insisted that he charged me the right price. I checked my account first just to make sure, so I demanded a receipt and sure enough he had over charged me. He said it was a computer error. But if I didn’t demand a receipt to check it, I would of got ripped off. He gave me my money back to make it right…. But this is (Strike #3) all in the same day..
GHC continues to be wonderful
My second visit this year and GHC continues to be a well worthy trip from bay-area.
The layout challenges and rewards your tee shot accuracy. The greens do not have a lot of undulations and roll fast and true with terrific conditions. Fairways are well taken care of and I didn't observe any bare spots. The only complaints are the bunkers: sand is so hard that you need to take shallow devots and hard to control the distance. Some bunkers are more or less abandoned and have lots of weeds in it (that I was fortunate to avoid).
I played both blue and gold/back tees. The gold tees are really designed for low handicap golfers (<5) as the scorecard suggested. Unlike some other courses I can shot similar scores in both tees, GHC back tees are challenging for handicap 5-9 as it requires 20ft+ long and accurate tee shots.
I played the course by myself twice and finish both rounds within 3 hours. A sheer joy.
Awesome course. We were stuck behinds 4 foursomes that took 10 shots apiece . Had to.call.club house and skip two holes.
Awesome course in pristine condition. Disappointed on time of play and as a twosome we should have been able to play through instead of skipping two holes.
Greenhorn creek
Pro shop guys not very friendly.
Wet little in the way of snacks, drinks slow to get.
Great Course
GHC is a very challenging course. The course layout along with the fairway’s length allows the golfer to use most clubs in your bag. Also as a bonus they have new golf carts and they are very comfortable!
Nice Place
I love courses that present a new challenge on each hole.... This is one of them!
Great Course
I have played GHC several times and it did not disappoint. The front nine is easier than the back 9 whihc has several challenging holes!
Greenhorn
Fairways, rough and greens were excellent. Staff and carts were great, can't wait to ho back
Tougher Than Expected
I didn't expect as many forced carries and blind doglegs on a "resort" course. If I hadn't been playing with a friend that has played the course several times, I would have had a much higher score.
The windy conditions also contributed to the difficulty.
AWESOME
An awesome course, not very long but very challenging and iron placements are key to scoring well here. Overall great course conditions and layout. Fun day for golf.
Beautiful
The course is always in great shape. One of the prettiest courses around. Always see deer and other wide life. Great course and a great price with Tee off golf.
