Hole #12 I believe. Photo submitted by Trailerteri on 04/03/2013
Great place to spend my birthday!
Fun golf course! Wonderful conditions, challenging, but fun. You could get away with missing a shot occasionally. I played pretty well and it made for a birthday I won’t soon forget. I’d highly recommend this as a must during a vaccination stay in the Palm Springs area.
Play this course at least once.
Can't beat this course. Pace was a bit sluggish. Conditions were excellent.
Fantastic courses
Actually Everything very nice!
As good as any country club
The green grass and red flowering bushes were stunning.
The course had ample fairway off the tees
Price was a little high but enjoyed the round immensely
Excellent Condition
Played on Veteran's Day with a 3-some from the Can. Course was in great shape. Just reopened from over-seeding it was in fantastic condition. Greens were rolling smooth and true. Great lies in the fairways. I was on Player Course. This is a resort course with wide open fairways, few water carries, large greens, and manageable rough. Great course for mid-high handicappers. It is a typical Player course however with deep bunkers and rolling fairways that rarely give you a flat/even lie. The bunkers were in great shape and easy to escape but tricky to get up and down when you're 8' below the green. I definitely recommend the course, amenities, and staff. Great place to play and I WILL be back.
Good pace. Great shape
Greens not too mysterious. Great pace, never waited. Plenty of water and ice on course. Not overly narrow.
I was disappointed that there was no sand to warm up in.
Excellent Facility; Disappointing Pace
The course is challenging and fun; facilities and staff are top notch. The only critique I have is due to the pace of play. I booked a 6:30 tee time, for $199, with the hopes of playing a timely round as the first group off. Unbeknownst to me, the staff placed two foursomes of a Ladies’ Tournament ahead of us. After flying through the first 11 holes, we spent the next 2 hours waiting on every shot for the last 7 holes. Had I been informed of this plan by the staff, I would’ve chosen not to golf today.
Otherwise, everything about the Indian Wells Golf Resort courses is aces; highly recommend.
Will be back!
Great course, super friendly staff, surprised by water features a couple times when we forgot to check GPS, that was interesting. Was disappointed there was no breakfast available in restaurant until 11am, just a food vendor truck with minimal menu. Points off for that but everything else was great! Starter Frank was a character!!
First and last.
This is a never again..er Attractive course but for the dollar I’m paying here I would expect to see a course Marshall pushing people along. Like the JW Marriott this course is always over booked with no marshals most teetimes take 4 1/2 to 5 hours to play. typical for resorts. Nice looking but a lot to be desired.
Communication
I was surprised to learn when I arrived at the course that it was still not completely ready from the overseed. Cart path only basically for that price is not a good value. Mats on the range are worn out as are the range balls.
Played JW Marriott before Indian wells and will not be back to Marriott. No comparison to Wells
Had a great time . In our group was general manager Sven , he was all so knowledgeable on where to play your shots . He was able to help me many times on adjustments to my swing ! Would recommend playing this course to everyone.
Nice course -
The good:
- nice course
- good conditions
- friendly staff
- quick pace
The bad:
- We had the first tee time and 3 of the first 4 holes were directly into the sun. I think architects should take direction into account and not start headed east nor finish heading west, just to avoid the blinding sun for the early starters and later finishers.
- There are 3 or 4 holes with hazards that are not visible from where i was hitting the ball, so pay close attention to the GPS.
- Finally, to me it is way overpriced. If your an Indian wells resident you get a break, but, as a visitor, for a early fall tee time i felt it was more expensive than warranted.
Pace of play horrible
Played at 7:50am. Waited on every shot from our approach on the first hole to the approach on 18. Called pro shop twice and they said they’d send someone….no Marshall ever sent. Easy fix as there was a 4some 3 groups in front with easily 5-6 hole gap in front of them. Ruined the experience for everyone around us.
