Beautiful!
My FAVORITE course! Nothing else to say!
Never disappoints
Indian Wells has two courses and. Both are fantastic. If you can only play one I'd say Celibrity course is the prettier of the two (but not by much) From the time you arrive at the course until you drive away you are treated like royalty. The entire staff is absolutely over the top super friendly and will take care of you.
The course itself is perfect with lush fairways excellent bunkers and a challanging yet manageable layout. Plenty of tee box options to make it as difficult or accomondating as you desire.
Greens were slower than normal from last months overseed. Pace of play for the afternoon was under 4 hrs which is fantastic for this course. The course scenery is so beautiful that even when you dunk one into the many lakes around the course you can't help but smile!
I can't wait until I play again tomorrow !!!!
Great golf experience
I was paired up with another couple. They were friendly which contributed to my good experience. The course was immaculately maintained. Although the greens were a bit slow due to recent over seeding, they putted well. The layout was great for a range of golfers when you use the various tee boxes. Overall, a great golf experience and I would be back.
Great Course
We had a very enjoyable round. It is a very pretty and well managed course. If only we could figure out how to stay out of the sand....
Tough but fair...
Golf course was in great shape.., green were fast but true. First time playing there was a little tough. There a a few blind spots if you don't know where to hit it your in trouble. Would definitely play it again...
Indian Wells Celebrity
Played the Orange Tees (6538/71.7/129) as a single in less than 3H. The weather was clear and fairly calm but close to 110. Beautiful layout (37-35) with 7 sets of well spaced tees. I especially like how basically all their tees except the tips are combo tees. Makes it easier for people to play different tees since you are playing 9 tees from the color in front of you on most tee sets. The tees were lush and nicely maintained with few divots. The Bermuda fairways were lush and very nice to play from. The Bermuda rough was also lush and excellent to play from as well. Really nice to chip from. The traps were immaculately maintained with nice fine sand. The Bermuda greens putted fast and were firm with few ball marks. These greens, especially the speed were especially tough for me to handle between rounds at Classic Club where the conditions were very different. Almost no straight putts with many subtle undulations. Challenging layout set on a good mixture of flat and rolling hills. Many holes with fairways that are either narrower or require turning the ball to get in prime positions. Large challenging green complexes. This course would be challenging to walk since there are numerous tees hundreds of yards from the last green. The customer service matched the playing conditions, superb! Cart guy was around numerous times. Complementary range ball on an all grass range. Everything was outstanding. Definitely recommended.
Celebrity
Played the Blues (6642/72.5/132) with Peggy, Charlie & Peter in 4.5H early morning. The weather was excellent, slight breeze, clear and warming up as the round progressed.
Unique layout in that they have fourteen par 4's and only two par 5's and two par 3's. Seems weird to play seven par 4's on each side. Normally, that would be a detriment, but the par 4's here all have a different feel/look, good mixture of longer and risk/reward holes to keep things fun and interesting. Very pretty layout with flower arrangements surrounding many holes that add to the visual effect. Tougher than average layout, up/down hills and the large greens complexes are challenging. This course would be a beast to walk as numerous holes are a ways from the last green.
The tees were lush with most divots already properly repaired.
The fairways were lush and provided good lies.
The rough was lush and not overly penal. I was usually able to get good club on the ball and advance shots from the rough decent distances.
The sand traps were immaculate. Well maintained with nice fine sand.
The greens looked and putted great. Medium fast, smooth and firm with few ball marks.
The customer service was exceptional. Something they do here that I have not seen at other courses is very smart on multiple levels. You get a voucher to purchase specific items in the restaurant at happy hour prices if you finish your round in less than 4 1/2 hours. Makes the customer feel special, funnels them into the restaurant and gets their restaurant additional business. Very nice layout in excellent condition, highly recommended.
A Must Play
This is an absolutely awesome course. Always in wonderful shape with a great practice facility. If you choose to eat in the restaurant afterward, the whole day becomes an entire "experience". I gave the pace of play one star BUT there was a group of 16 or so in front of us (4 foursomes). The marshal knew we were 2 deep on the tee boxes so at the turn they offered to let us jump ahead 3-4 holes past the log jam OR go play the Players course which had no one on it. My point is-they were very accommodating to make sure we had a good time. Not many courses would do this. We are now Customers For Life!!
Beautiful layout and very challenging
Aesthetics of the course are breathtaking
Course is tight on some holes but very manageable
Really impressed with the condition of the fairways.
The greens were fast and true.--all you can ask for in a course.
Must play for any golfer in the area.
New fav
I stay in Palm Desert every year at the end of the summer. This is the best time for golf in the area if you can handle the heat. The Players course is a REAL course with tees for every skill level...7300 from the tips and mid tees at 6500 (my tees). Conditions could not have been better. Lots of trouble if you don't hit it straight and lots of bunkering protecting the pin. This venue was a pleasure to play and the staff was perfect. I will make a point of coming here again!
Best course played so far Gordon said
Greens, fairways, and all aspects of the course we're manicured.
Always a great course
Friendly staff, excellent from bag drop to departure. Well trained and a model for other courses to follow. The celebrity course was very well taken care of. I played the tips and nothing too difficult. Tight landing areas but wide open greens with meticulous fairways and rough. Fantastic value. Hats off to management and staff.
A hidden gem!
Beautiful course with constant challenges. Staff was helpful and looking for ways to exceed expectations.
A must play in Indian Wells
Beautiful course, very fun and every hole is very different from the other. As expected it was very hot to play in July, but since we teed off at 6AM it was very bearable. I think the hottest it got was 94F when we were on 18. The pace was amazing, probably because it was summer, but we ended up finishing in less than 4 hours. The greens looked beautiful but played extremely slow and somewhat bumpy given the quality of the overall course. I will definitely try to play here again, but will probably try the Players course next time.
Love the couse
Great course in very good shape
Just perfect!
Just in awe. Got a great deal. It was hot but there are plenty of water and ice stations throughout the course. Players course was in immaculate shape. As long as you keep the ball in the fairway, all is good. Didn't have to wait at all on any tee. Finished in about 2 1/2 hours and that was playing casually without rushing.
Solid Resort Style Course
If you want to experience great service and a really picturesque layout you should definitely visit this course. I feel like the back nine is a little more difficult than the front. I played in early morning late may and the heat didn't really bother me until the last couple of holes. Great practice facilities with complimentary range and short game balls.
Worth it!
I often look for the ultra-affordable rounds and had an OK time paying $10-25 at other nearby courses. However, I wanted to treat myself to something fancier in Palm Springs area and have no regrets picking Indian Wells. I played the Player's Course, but I heard the Celebrity Course is just as challenging--but with a little better decor. It was great to have ice and water dispensers about every 3-4 holes--and the practice range was very nice and spacious. At the end of the round the beautiful club house/bar/restaurant gave me a great punctuation to the outing.
Play it you won't be dissappointed
The course conditions were very good. The only poor aspect would be - some of the tee boxes were a little beat up. The fairways were beautiful, and the greens were green and rolled true. The flower beds were a little past their prime but the extra color was noticed and appreciated. The on-course water stations and restroom facilities were exemplary. This is a course that requires you to pay attention to the GPS because of the hidden hazards. Get there early and make use of the great practice areas and/or the well stocked pro shop. The ladies told me that only the sale item were a bargain. To date we have played 9 different courses in the Palm Springs area and this course rates #1 or #2 in our book.
Wowww
Great course, great layout, greens were perfect and course condition at there best
