Hot Day
We played on the day that Palm Springs set an all time daily record maximum temperature of 108. The heat was taxing. The rough was too long resulting in extra time searching for ball. Generally the course was in good shape and the greens very fast. The starter (Chris) was very friendly and helpful - a great representative.
Course is terrible,
Don’t play here if you’re a golfer Charlie thinks cheap golf wins out. You want junk course play here. Best hope is owner fires General Manager
Club can’t even get annual membership because course I’d in terrible shape.
Beginner golfer. Was nervous but people were kind. I had fun and the course was nice. Maybe not to the expectations to people who have 20+ years and are better but If you wanna play golf I recommend it. Ill be coming here a lot more
Indian/Mountain
Sure, 50$ to play w a cart early on the weekend. But, the holes on greens haven’t been moved in a long time. The pins don’t go all the way down in the cup, to have the pin hold straight up. If you can’t go anywhere else, then fine, play it. You get full swings in & it’s golf. Bunkers are not kept, we raked the sand then replaced our ball to be able to play out of them.
First Fall Round in the Desert
Played our first round of the fall season. The course was in relatively good shape but grass clippings on the fairway and in the rough meant time spend looking for balls. Pace of play was generally good. Will play again.
.Worst golf course in the area
Just read all the reviews. I decided to play it anyhow driving an hr away because it was the cheapest and now I see why. This place should not be part of the golf now. I am blown away how bad it was and how accurate the reviews were. I asked the lady in there about I was concerned with the bad reviews and she said that was just summertime which was crap b cause the reviews are from a week ago to 6 months. DONT GO HERE!! just because it’s cheap. It’s not golf and also feel sorry for the people that live in this community. What ever management company is running dump should be fired.
The worst golf course in The Area
Read the reveiws I didn’t believe it until I played that dump. Mad at golf now for putting this on there site.
Beyond disappointing
My wife and I are in Palm Springs for our honeymoon. We are avid golfers, but elected to not bring our clubs down with us (from our home in Winnipeg, CAD) as we wanted to mostly focus on good restaurants and relaxation. We had one day open and decided to golf . We were debating between a few courses, but then saw a great “hot” deal on GolfNow for Indian Palms CC . This coincidentally is a course that my wife’s grandparents knew very well a couple decades back as they had a home in the area. The family said nothing but good things , but with a caveat, “if they still maintained it , it is narrow, but you will enjoy it”. Well to our shock and disappointment this course looked like it had not been maintained at all since the 20 years before that my in-laws played it . The club house was dingy and poorly staffed. The breakfast sandwich was awful and they used Kraft singles as the cheese. The hash browns were OK but were cold. We had to approach the bar after waiting 15mins to be acknowledged. The setup for the poor bartender is awfully inefficient so I can’t overly blame her for that, plus they had her pulling double duty as also the person to check in groups. The breakfast experience alone should have made us run back to our hotel, but we thought, hey, we’re here it’s paid for. It’s cheap . Let’s rent our clubs and see what it’s all about……MISTAKE.
The course is by far the worst conditioned course I have ever seen, and I come from the Canadian Prairies . The tee boxes were over grown - the grass on some spots were longer than my tee. The fairways were burnt and filled with dead grass. The greens….I don’t have any words.
We finished playing 8 holes on the mountain course and left the course (we paid for 18). The Royal course was closed, but the backlog of golfers on 9 and the horrible experience to point did not prompt us to even want to have a look at the Indian 9.
We went back to club house and brought back the rental clubs (which were bad, old and can in a broke. Bag). The starter asked us how it went and we told him how it didn’t meet our expectations even with the discounted pricing ($75 each for round, cart and clubs). His response was, “well that’s shocking to hear as it’s actually in relatively good shape. You should come back in a month and it will be in tip top shape”. No thanks. We will never go back to that course and I hope we help some of you make a better decision than we did
Shut it down.
This course is in the worst shape out of the 800+ courses in the valley. I normally wouldn’t have played here, but just wanted to play a quick 9. Check-in took 40 mins, because no one knew what they were doing. It’s a historic, tight track that either needs new management’ and funding, or just let it go. Terrible experience.
Needs work
Tee boxes were so shaggy you couldn't see the ball on the tee. Fairways not cut properly, the rough was too deep for this course. Greens were lightning fast and no ball would stick to them.
Are they closing?
The pro shop staff slow and unwelcoming. The course, bad shape. Poor mowing 3" fairways, missed areas in the fairway, lost balls, many teemarkers missing. Nolove on this course. Better off playing elsewhere until they care.
Poor not worth the money
Maintenance poor
Uneven cutting of fairways
Piles of cut grass on fairways
Tee box markers sometimes 2 to 4
All greens patchy and bumpy
Maintenance
Buy a good lawnmower, keep the blades sharp, and use it. The course looked like a very bad haircut. Piles of grass everywhere, uncut and poorly manicured. Won’t be coming back. Expectations were low for $35, and it still was disappointing
Poor fairways
Poor uneven cut on fairways.
Piles of cut grass all over.
Loosing ball in middle of the fairway because of the uneven grass.
Unplayable
Tropical Storm Hilary cause significant damage to the golf course which it hasn't recovered from making it
unplayable. The course should not even be open until
the recovery happens
