Needs work
Been playing this course on and off for 30 years (convenient) worst shape yet
Not good
I DO NOT recommend this course, unless you pay less than $50. No starter, no rangers/player assistants, played behind a 5some, they were behind A 6SOME....I have never, ever seen that allowed anywhere else. Sand bunkers overgrown with grass and weeds. Local residents walking on the cart paths, some with dogs!! Players jumping from one hole on one course to any open hole on the next course!! Basically, just a s--t-show. Pro shop is basically non existant, crayon hand written sign on the pro shop cage door (closed) telling you to go into the bar to pay your fees. This place just gets worse every year!!
Play Elsewhere
Does not feel like a real golf course.
Our biggest complaint was the evident lack of maintenance. Traps were totally unkept. Greens had leaves and anthills on them, holes had rough edges as if they hadn't been moved in a week. I'm not sure any maintenance crews had been on the course in the last few days.
Only 1 person at clubhouse. No balls or equipment at clubhouse, just a few sparse racks of clothes.
Recommend
Pace of play was good, course great condition, fairways nice. Excellent food, ordered on turn was fast.
We loved the Starter/Golf Pro/ Cart Attendant
Wow! Our first time there and the Gentleman at the counter, who was pulling carts by himself in the dark,
took the time to question an error on our green fee.
He was so nice that he was the bright spot of the day.
He never got anxious about the people lined up and just handled the entire operation by himself. ....a Genuine
Pro! The course obviously needs a lot of work but it
looks like the greenskeepers are trying. Lots of work
being done, i.e. trees trimmed, greens sanded. Probably not the golf shops decision, but they should hire more as there is so much potential there. The company would sell more homes if the course was spectacular....which
it could be. Why keep building when one can't keep up with what you have? This is all said with love. We will
come back. Good Luck with your property. Oh...no coffee until after 9:30????? Please.....we need it that early...lol.....
Terrible golf course
I am sure due to Covid keeping a course in playable shape is difficult. The condition of the course was awful. No maintanence to clean up around the course. None of the water features were working, but also not clean enough to work. We wanted to quit many times during the round but stuck it out. Left a sour taste. WILL NEVER BE BACK.
Slow going
You need a Marshall out on the course. I had to follow two groups of women who took their time with no concern for others.
Course was in poor condition.
Fairways needed to be mowed and greens were in bad shape
Terrible condition
Obviously they have let this course go. The greens were terrible as were the fairways. Backed up 4 deep on the first few holes. Granted it was only $63 but I could've played at a much nicer course for $10 more dollars. The golf cart was filthyy. Every Teebox had trash pouring out of the trash receptacles and we plated at 10 AM tee off… The trash I don't think has been emptied for many days
Don't waste your money!
Excellent bang for your buck
$25 with a cart. First ones off the tee to start the day, finished in just over 3hrs. Course conditions were as expected for the price. Some real dry spots, some real soggy spots from the sprinklers, some bumpy greens. If you're a leisure golfer and are just looking for a good time, this was a great place to play.
Can't believe this course is on GolfNow
This is the worst golf course I've ever played, and no mention when we booked that many of the greens have massive chunks missing. Think of it as the little grand canyon in many greens.
T boxes were not mowed, my wife asked me at one point if we had longer tees becuase should couldsn't tee up her ball enough.
I have seen that in the past month every review is similar to what I'm writing.
@GOLFNOW -> REMOVE THIS COURSE FROM YOUR SERVICE!!!!!
Overpriced for condiions
Let me start by acknowledging that I fully understood the condition of the course would not be "up to standard" due to the annual (and expected) overseeding going on. And as expected, the grass on the fairways and greens were scalped and dry. What wasn't expected, though, was the absence of other services. First of all, we started our day waiting for a cart. Upon check in, we were informed that they were "low on carts" and we - along with other groups - had to wait for other golfers to finish their rounds and return their carts before we could cart up. A group in front of us teed off at least 20 min late because they didn't have a cart. In my 25+ years of golfing in the desert, I have never heard of a course "running low on carts". Then none of the carts were equipped with coolers. The holders were there for them, but we weren't given one. So no coolers for us to take our own drinks; no water offered anywhere on the course; and no beverage cart. Based on the condition of the course, as well as the absence of absolutely every amenity one could expect on a day where temperatures got to 91 degrees, I felt that charging $73 a player was way overpriced. However, they know that they are one of only a very few "games in town" since most courses are closed altogether for reseeding. So they took advantage of the fact that people would be desperate enough to play SOMEWHERE that they would pay a higher price, even though the overall experience didn't warrant it. I would have felt satisfied had I paid $35 - $40 to play, but at $73 I felt I had overpaid for what I got.
Improving!
The course is getting better. I would recommend paying the course due to it's historical interest as being one of the oldest course in the Coachella Valley.
It would be fun for all ages and levels of golfers.
Goat Track
Anyone writing anything close to a positive review for this course has to be a paid by the course. Stay away. I saved a couple $70 (2 green fees) as they were going to play tomorrow and I told them to save their money.
Just because limited courses are available in October and this one seems cheap…. please, please, do not waste your time or money playing it.
Hotel staff check you in. “Golf shop” is an open conference room with a cash register and a couple racks of outdated golf clothes. I should have ran when I walked in.
STAY AWAY!!!
What a joke. Overgrown tee boxes. Dead grass/mud in the fairways. Grass in the bunkers. Even patches of dirt on the greens. Waste of $$$. Waste of time. Probably a good spot for a group of 10 guys who just want to get wasted and have golf cart drag races, but if you wanna actually play golf stay away.
