The par-4 14th. A great example of what makes this course special. Notice the hillocks and hummocks on the left side of the fairway. Otherwise, this would be a mundane hole, but this addition collects tee shots and makes the approach interesting. Photo submitted by BrandonWebb on 08/12/2017

Makenzie called the par-4 16th the greatest two-shotter in the world, largely due to the three-tiered green. No room for error long, short or right. Photo submitted by BrandonWebb on 08/12/2017

From behind the 11th green, one of the most difficult par 4s I've ever played. Requires two-to-three clubs up on approach. Photo submitted by BrandonWebb on 08/12/2017

Excellent!!
I just love this course. I didn’t play well this time out, but it’s conditions are pristine and The design is FANTASTIC! I wish it wasn’t so expensive but it is definitely worth the green fee on the rare occasions I’m in town.
Pristine as always. Best semi public course in California outside of pebble and maybe spyglass
First time but will be back!
Pasatiempo had been on our list for a while so there was a lot of anticipation. They paired us with a member which turned out to be a huge benefit. A lot of course knowledge was provided which made the round more enjoyable. The greens are really hard to read. I think I 3 putted every one. Just couldn’t figure out. Very challenging course. Great time!
Course in amazing condition
Pasatiempo is always in good condition but right now they have it in amazing condition. Great round on a great course. Worth the drive no matter where your coming from.
One of the best courses in the WORLD
Pasatiempo deserves ALL the praise it gets - it's fun for all levels of golfers, gorgeous and challenging and so creative. The back nine might just be the best back nine in golf, at least at a course that allows for (some) public play. In particular, holes 10, 11, 14, 16 and 18 are all holes that you'll be thinking about for days if not weeks afterwards.
It's a very walkable course but there IS some holes with a lot of elevation so carts are available. It's consistently ranked in the top-20 public course in the country, and I feel like this is probably rating it too low. There's not a bad hole on the course (even the BRUTALLY long par-3 3rd hole is fairly incredible even as it chews you up and spits you out) and the vibe at the course is perfect.
I can't recommend it enough.

Classic Design
Fantastic golf course. Read Dr. Alister MacKenzie's guide to course design in the club house. I wish all golf course architects would try to adhere to those rules.
Plays much longer then the yardage. Perfect weather when we played and it seemed as if the course was 7K.
Everyone should experience this course at least once.
Course in great condition - 4:45h round though
Course and overall facility are in great condition. Greens are fast and very challenging - but not unfair. Rough down at 1-2“ and well playable. Bunkers with no rakes but even in the late afternoon were in good condition.
Very nice weather these days with winds not more than half a club.
Pace of play could have been better. They had marshals on the course but it was a busy day and on a tough course that‘s what you get: 4:45hr for the round.
Bucket List Course
It's perfect in every way. What a fantastic experience. If you can't play with someone who knows the course, get a caddie. Having someone who knows the pitfalls helps tremendously. The course is tough, but fair.
Enjoy the day at Pasatiempo. Having played it once, its already my favorite course anywhere.
Worth Playing Once In Your Life
First time playing an Alastair Mackenzie design course and there were certainly Augusta National looks to the holes. Except for the long native grass around a lot of the tee boxes and greens which the member in my foursome noted was un-MacKenzie like. Greens' slow speed caught me off guard but the same member pointed out it's poa annua which gets hairy in the afternoon, but the ball still rolled true.
Not a whole lot of sweeping views except the 1st and 12th tee boxes. But individual hole designs are very interesting with lots of contouring and thoughtful design
Every day is special at Pasatiempo
This was my fourth time playing Pasatiempo, so I had a game plan going in. I knew what clubs to hit and how to play certain holes. It paid off with a solid score on a course that is sneaky difficult. There are so many challenging par 4s - 1-7-10-11-16 - that it's hard to beat your handicap. The par 5s are beatable, but the par 3s take back whatever strokes you may have gained. They're mean (in a good way).
It's one of the rare courses that I could see myself playing every day the rest of my life. It's walkable, interesting, confounding, historic. A winning combination, for sure.
Amazing course with Extremely Slow Greens
We love Pasatiempo, but when we played yesterday, the greens were extremely slow. Even our downhill putt didn't roll. The practice green was awesome, but it's totally different than the actual 18 holes greens.
The fairways and rough were in great shape.
Drinking water is available in 3 out of 4 places, 1 location by tee box #14 is not working. And all drinking water is not cold, it would have been nice if we had cold water in a warm day.
