Great first round

Greens were a little rough, but overall a great course. Our flight in tp Palm Springs was delayed by almost 2 hours and when I called the pro shop they said to just get here when we could. We didn't have to wait at all

All the staff were friendly and helpful. We're back later in the week to play the other course. Really looking forward to it

I don’t know what to think of some of these negative reviews in a resort destination filled with many many choices and many great golf courses most of them immaculately kept. This place track was wonderful. Yeah could’ve been just a tad bit greater sure. More pristine maybe but there was certainly nothing lackluster about this golf course fantastic. Backdrops T boxes is in great shape. Pay to play was very good at what you would expect from a resort type of golf course and the last three holes had plenty of teeth to give you an exciting finish to a wonderful day out here at the JW Marriott golf links hadn’t been back there in eight years thought it was absolutely wonderful

Great course worth the money

Super friendly staff and course was in great shape minus a few burnt spots on some greens. Played a weekday afternoon round and was able to get 18 in before sundown. Course is a bit expensive, but not overly challenging and you should have a good time. Would reccomend to friends

Palm Course.

Greens were sparse but they rolled pretty well. Other than that the course was in great shape.

Open fairways make it a friendly course for the driver, but it has plenty of length so it’s still a good challenge for a resort course.

Poor Shape

The course was in poor shape….Aerated greens, sparse grass on approaches and fairways

Unfortunatley no communication regarding the aerated greens, yet still gouging the player for full green fee

Would hope a Marriott resort would do better.

Fun round

Not only fun but quick - starter let us go early and didn't catch anyone until 17. Course in good condition. Greens consistent.

Desert golf protected by water

Water is the hazard of choice on the Palm Course at the JW Marriott Desert Springs, a Ted Robinson design from the late 1980s. I lost more balls than I care to admit but had fun trying to take on a few heroic carries. The four-hole finishing stretch is where golfers better have their wits about them. Three water-logged par 4s (nos. 15, 16 and 18) are trumped only by the impressive waterfall feature everybody photographs on the par-3 17th.

Fun layout, but horrible condition conditions

As with any desert course, they overseed in the fall. This course was due for overseeding starting a few days later. It seemed as if they just let the course die off. The conditions of the fairways were terrible. Lots of bald spots. The tee boxes were not much better. The greens were OK. I regret paying so much money for such poor conditions. They know full well the conditions of the course prior to overseeding and yet they still charge the normal price. I will not play here again.

Not worth the money

Course is in bad shape right now definitely not worth the over $200 fee. Right now it’s probably five out of 10.

Good value, quirky holes, decent conditions, recommend

Good value, quirky holes, decent conditions, recommend. Valley course is coming out of maintenance and mowers were still out there making piles of grass clippings everywhere. Fairways and greens were good. Bunkers ok. The layout is kind of cramped in. Mostly uneven, undulating lies everywhere made it difficult to make consistent contact (back to practicing those above/below/side hill lies). I prefer the Palm course for more scenery but recommend both.
