JW Marriott entry w/Palms decorated for Christmas Photo submitted by dpeagleton on 12/22/2012
Marriott Palm golf course
Excellent course layout. I love the rolling hills on many of the holes.
Very nice
Beautiful course in good condition. Wide open fairways. Tricky target greens over water and sloped surrounds. Staff was casually indifferent. Links to Google maps from GN and the club were wrong. And delayed my arrival by 35 minutes. Pro shop guy blamed it on Google. Hard to find golf pro shop once you arrive.
Sun Chaser
Perfect weather and extremely good conditions! We had a great breakfast followed by an amazing round of golf in the sun. Seeing flamingos from our tee box was spectacular!
jomigo
Generally good conditions. But if playing after 1pm in late January marshalls should monitor twosomes jumping ahead, or others cutting in to pkay 27 holes.
What a shame!
I love this course, it's one of my favorites in the desert. Unfortunately the management at the courses appears to be unconcerned about pace of play. After the fourth hole, my wife and I waited at least 5 minutes, sometimes considerably more on each tee until we completed our round. At the 12th tee we discovered a cause for the delay. Remarkably there was a sixsome two groups ahead of us. I have played golf for more than 62 years and never experienced a sixsome on a golf course. We called the pro shop to alert them to the issue. Long story short, they sent a cart person to investigate and he ended up doing nothing to address the situation. So I will not return to one of my favorite courses in the desert. What a shame.
Well worth golfing here
Beautifully maintained course with enough challenge for every level of golfer.
Wide open
If you try hard, you could lose a ball. Mostly wide fairways, and fair greens. It got a little backed up, so we replayed the front nine at twilight.
Pace of Play
From 7th hole onwards we had 3-4 groups per hole. We called the ProShop to advise and we were told that they did not have a Marshall on the course. They said that there was nothing that they could do about pace of play. For this amount of money, they should have a Marshall on the course. Very disappointing and it was a 5 hour round. We had a tee time of 12:10.
Very nice layout
This course is in very good shape. Hard to read greens. I found it very long for women as there is no forward tees, you are playing the whites.
We had dinner at the Fisherman's Landing. The service was just ok but the food was terrible. Both our plates arrived cold and I had the halibut but couldn't cut into one of the pieces. Terrible experience.
Pretty good deal on a premium course on Golf Now
The course is very nice, but there is not ranger to keep things moving. I had. great time, but the pace was super slow. Had a 2:00 start time but showed up early. As they were not busy, the starter let me tee off at 1:25 - a very nice gesture. The course is truly beautiful and the greens nice and consistent.
Challenging but fair track
I loved playing a round at Desert Springs Palm. The course was beautiful and laid out as a challenge but with accommodating landing areas and true greens. Delightful staff and stunning scenery made this a most enjoyable round!
