Great Course
We played the course on Super Bowl Sunday in the afternoon, so we got it for a bit lower price than normal. The course has a great layout and is in excellent condition. The greens were a bit dry, but still rolled pretty good, so we were OK with that. The course layout has a few challenging holes, but overall is very fair and enjoyable to play. We would definitely play it again if we can get it for a reasonable price.
Club house asst pro was less than congenial checking us in. Seemed irritated that we were coming to play his course.
No rangers on the course, with the back nine being very slow. Waits up to fifteen minutes on each tee box. They used to pass out fruit and encourage all to keep up a fair pace with their friendly comments.
Refreshment carts had a limited appearance. Once per nine.
I guess when you raise your rates from under 200$/round to 280$/round, you get less amenities and slower play.
Lazy golfers.
The course was in great condition especially considering all the rain last couple of days.
Very frustrated that NOBODY seems to care about repairing their ball marks on Greens. Played with 2 members and neither of them ever pulled out a tool. I fixed 2+ of the worst ball marks on every green
Not impressed.
Course layout is very good and challenging. Problem was course conditions were. Poor.
yardage issues
Marriott is a top notch organization, so I can't understand why this is an issue....GOLFNOW yardages for this facility are acccurate; the Marriott scorecard is way off....for example, GN shows white tee valley at 6023, scorecard shows 5262....this is a major issue when the player tries to decide which tees to play AND it's a known issue
pace of play
We were not able to finish our round due to darkness.
They either overbooked or they did not Marshall it properly.
5 plus hours is not acceptable.
Great course
Excellent course for a great value. I can't recall a blade of grass out of place. Had a great round with a good group of guys. A must play course in the desert.
Great looking course with plenty of challenges. The fairways were awful and the greens not good either.
Too many good well maintained courses in the area so this would not be on my list of places to play.
Great course
Great course to play. Fairways and greens in good shape. Staff were friendly.
Only negatives were that bunkers surrounding the greens had very little sand and given their depth, this made for frustrating attempts the land the green from a bunker. Ened up blading a few across the green after my sand wedge bounced off the bottom on a few holes.
An on course Marshall nakung the rounds would be very beneficial here. Group in front of us were so slow, there were no groups 3 holes in front of them. Not the first time there has been slow play issues here.
JW Marriott Valley Course
Great course - fairway and greens were in excellent shape! Challenging but open
10 minute tee times were ignored, with the starter pushing people to tee off early. Our 10:10 time went off before 9:55. This leaves no room for slack, so the group behind us was frustrated ant hit into us a couple of times. Then a single jumped in and tried to get in front of us. Did I mention the three bicycle riders on the back nine paths and fairways? Said they were lost and looking for a way out. Too much resort noise for me; won’t be back.
Nice track for average players
Not overly punishing, pace of play was good enough.. beverage service was frequent, price a little high for a course that had worn fairways and greens but that’s sort of what you get for winter golf in the south.
No Marshalls
We did not see one Marshall all day long to keep things moving. On the front 9 our threesome waited for the two in front of us on nearly every hole with nobody visible ahead of them, and they never waved us up. We got to the turn and wonder if two groups snuck in (maybe after already playing 18 on the other course?) because the pair we were following were now suddenly waiting for two foursomes on the tenth fairway and green. The entire back nine was painfully slow. Had to play the last hole and a half in the dark.
1 of my favorite courses
This course is absolutely beautiful and in great shape. Wish I could play it everyday!
