Very well kept clubhouse and range, course layout is straightforward but the back nine is a bit more challenging. Pace of play on a Saturday is slow but that’s normal for a perfect weather weekend so can’t complain about that. super friendly and helpful pro shop and player services staff. snack shop employee practically demanded a tip for putting a hot dog on a bun. Starter was rude.

Overall good experience can’t expect perfection would recommend for a fun afternoon weekday!

Green are messed up

I've been playing here for 14 years. I've never seen the greens or any greens in the condition these greens were in. Soggy and muddy. Caused by over watering. They will all need to be replace. Sorry to say this as this is my home course.

Fix the Tee Boxes please!!

Tee boxes 14 of 18 are pretty much dirt and crabgrass, but mostly dirt. The rest of the course is OK, green pretty good, fairways good, bunkers are concrete.

CS

I’ve played this course many times before and the course is usually in good condition. The practice facilities are nice and conveniently located . The staff in the pro-shop and snack bar were all super welcoming and friendly. The snack bar, however, had a limited menu due to tournament.

The only negative was playing behind a tournament. It took 5 1/2 hours to finish!.

Poor experience

We had employees of the links that played behind us who hit the ball directly at us while we were on the green. This was a very poor experience. Our tee time started at 1:15 and we did not complete the around until after 6 pm because of waiting 10 min to tee off every hole. This was on Monday... very unfortunate golf experience to say the least.

Nice for the price

I’m not going to rehash all of the negative stuff like the tee boxes and slow play. This is an executive course and that’s where novices like to play. Get over yourselves. I thought the layout was pretty good and I was able to use a variety of clubs. Greens were very receptive and faster than I’m used to in Arizona. Bunkers could use some work but fortunately I was only in one. Staff was very good. I will definitely be back the next time I’m in the area. If you’re going to walk, there are a lot of up and down slopes. Take that into consideration when you check in. Overall a fun course.

A lot of grounds under repair…

There was a lot of grounds under repair, and the cart path was extremely bumpy at times. Greens were in fair condition. Overall a fun course to play despite the lack luster conditions.

Course is a good executive round

Decent conditions and pace of play exceeded 3 hours. 2 hours front 9; 1:15 back 9. A slow group stopped for lunch, thank goodness

Tee boxes need to better maintained and you could use a course ranger to move play along.

Fool me twice...

Last time I played here a couple years ago, I said my wife and I would never play again. We found ourselves with a gift card and decided why not, since it mitigated 75% of the fee for both of us playing.

Pro shop people are super friendly, as were the people at the turn bar/snack shack.

Thr restaurant was a different story. Had to be aggressive to get seated, and had to flag people down for any type of service.

Starter was very professional and friendly enough. Zero complaints.

1st hole is nice.

Starting on the 2nd hole, the swamp barrens begin. You either hit into marshy grass that falls apart if you strike it well, or ground under repair. We conservatively estimate over 100 ground under repair areas ON THE FRONT 9. Back 9 was worse.

This sounds like it caused me heartache. It didn't make me happy, but the real thing that pretty much ruined the round was the greens. Each green: ALL 18. Every single one looked like the surface of the moon. It's one thing when people don't repair their marks, but it appeared as if the greenskeepers jist over water the crap out of each green to maintain it. When it's over 80° outside, a GIR shouldn't create a crater and lodge itself in the green where you have to pry it out with a repair tool. Absolutely the worst greens in San Diego county. There are several executive courses in the area (including one owned and ran by the same people as this full course) where the greens and fairways are in much better condition for less than half the price of this dog track.

I had 3 beers, my wife had 2 cutwater cans, and we bought our friend a cocktail. This came in at ovwr $100 for 6 drinks - more than an NFL game.

It felt like we waited a lot, but at the end it said we were 15 minutes behind pace so I have no problem with that as I've seen places go over an hour behind pace.

Morale of the story: if you're going to pay $100/person for a round in San Diego, don't play here. Their own executive course, Twin Oaks, Boulder Oaks, Goat Hill, Emerald Isle, Arrowwood, Oceanside Municipal, Encinitas Ranch, etc. Go somewhere else, don't do yourself dirty. I felt like I disrespected myself spending money here again, even with a big ole gift card.
