Amazing!
The course was absolutely beautiful and everyone that works there is super friendly and welcoming! Had a fabulous experience! Hope to play there again soon!
Greens designed by the Devil
Fantastic course. In great shape. Played in under 4 hours. Staff was great. Greens are undulating and diabolical. Pricey but had a great time.

Nice but needs work
For the $$ you'd expect not to be hitting from bare spots in the fairways but there are many. Greens are in great shape and the bunkers are perfect. Enjoy if you can get the deal!

Since our grass thrives in full sun from April through October, we’re actively working to address the bare spots by improving drainage and managing salt accumulation in these areas.

Overall course review
My experience at monarch Beach for my first time with my dad was spectacular. Everything from The views to the overall course was outstanding. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Everybody made myself and my dad feel welcomed and part of the community there.

A rare ocean encounter for SoCal public golfers
I have a love-hate relationship with a few holes at Monarch Beach, but overall the experience is a good one. I enjoy the two ocean holes (and not just because I made back-to-back birdies at nos. 3-4). They're scenic, fair and interesting. I dislike a few of the par 5s (7 & 12) because they're too hard or just a bit awkward. The biggest strike against Monarch Beach is the lack of a range. As long as you stretch and putt to warm up, you should be fine playing one of SoCal's finest public courses.

Not remotely worth the money, even with an underpar discount.
I paid 200 and it wasnt even remotely worth it. Pretty easy course if you stay out of the bunkers. A single hole near the beach (pictured but for the price you’d assume it’s all on the coast). Obnoxiously priced. Easy to get stuck behind old people on a gold trip who just take forever. We were the 4th tee time and the old 4aome in front of us held us to a 4:40 round.
