About Pacific Palms Resort

Pacific Palms Resort is billed as "LA's hilltop hideaway", the only full-service luxury golf and conference resort in Los Angeles County. The setting of the 292-room hotel and two golf courses by William F. Bell and Casey O'Callaghan is set against the San Gabriel Valley Mountains. Live music and jazz sets the mood at the Red Restaurant and Bar. The Industry Hills Golf Club's Eisenhower and Zaharias courses have been upgraded over the years with new turf and infrastructure, but their historical layouts remain unchanged.

Charge extra $30 for cart

They were try to charge extra $30 for single player.

We booked for 3 players and my friend got upset and just left without playing.

They put single player to joining us and he didn't pay any extra cart fee.

Staff was so rude and they were laughed at us.

We won't go back this place ever.

Never go back to this place

Booked for 3 players on Saturday and when we checking in they required to my friend to share the cart with some single player that joining with us other wise they were going to charge him for extra $30 (yes $30 )

While later

Pro shop guy called

Manager and he came over said that just wear mask all day if you don't want to pay or worry about covid and laughed at us.

My friend got upset and just left and after that single player came in for checking in and they didn't ask him for anything.

So basically we were planning to have a good time with my friend and me and my wife had to play with some random guy instead of my friend.

Now I want to ask them why did you make my friend to pay him extra $30 and didn't ask anything to other person ?

What if that single player refuse to share the cart after my friend paid extra $30?

What if anyone of them got covid and spread to others.

Yes We can play together but I don't think anyone wants to share the cart with someone you don't know and don't want to hear that you have to pay extra $30 when you check in too.

Industry hills golf management team ruin our weekend and I want find out any regulation for social distancing from any source .

Great course but maintenance is becoming sloppy

I have played here a few times in the past and usually it's in pristine conditions. But this time I played, I noticed course needs some maintenance. Lot of divots & barren ground in the fairway. Some greens look dilapidated with barren ground exposed. Hate those bunkers with wet hard sand when played in the mornings.

Single player = shared cart? Makes no sense

I was a single paired up with a threesome. I wasn’t given my own cart. Although I paid for my round with the cart included. Thought that was odd given I was pairing up with a threesome. Plus if pace of play is important I would think it’d be wise to give as many carts as possible to ensure ready golf. So that was annoying. Plus the guy I rode with seemed annoyed with me having to ride with him which i completely understood. I would be bothered about having to ride with a random for 18 holes. Course Marshall have us a warning on the 5/6 hole and I was bothered because I was playing ready golf and moving along just fine. Playing one ball. However the other three hit multiple balls and spent too much time looking for their balls out of play. Had I had my own cart I would’ve been able to play ahead and the Marshall would’ve seen that I wasn’t at fault for backing up play We picked up pace on the back 9 and never heard from the Marshall again although he was hawking us. Don’t blame him much we had a bad hole on the front 9 and were 15 min+ behind pace of play. Just had an annoying experience which could’ve been avoided.

Tough Course from the blues

Great condition had a good round but it’s a little long for me from the blue tees. My playing partner was not a long ball hitter and was frequently 20 yards shorter than me. Don’t know why most golfers in LA think they need to hit from the tips. On a good day I drive it about 240-250. The white tees are more enjoyable for me. If you can’t reach the green in regulation on almost every hole, move up! Just a little rant

Great course for long hitters

Overall a forgiving course. Only a few penalty areas you can find yourself in. Fairways are nice, rough isn’t patchy, and overall the greens were in great shape! Industry hills also offers the Babe course which is a lot more narrow but short from tee to green. Very scenic course.

What a disappointment

Take your money and goto another course, and you have to share a cart when you’re playing single

Awesome Golf course

I played “Babe” and it is an Awesome golf course ! Love that it is a target golf course and not just “grip it and rip it”.

The only thing I would recommend is a little better directional information from the parking lot to the Pro Shop. Being it was my first time there, I wasn’t sure if I was walking into the Hotel, or the restaurant?? I was a little embarrassed walking through the outdoor dining area with my golf clubs on my shoulder.

I must add that I did love the Resort/Country Club feeling environment.

Thank you for a great experience. I look forward to playing there again soon !!

Sincerely

Rik Sciacca

Terribly slow and overpriced

Took 3 hours to play the front 9. Had to quit because it was taking too long. Not once did I see a Marshall. And course conditions are not worth the price.

Challenging course, no water in sight

The course itself is exceptionally long from the Blue tees so be prepared to hit long irons and blind shots into many of the holes on your second shots.

The tee boxes were not in the best shape and the course was made much more difficult by placing the tees on sides of the tee boxes which put trees in direct line with the fairway. Definitely be prepared to hit both draws and fades off different tees to even have a chance here.

The one thing that really stood out to me is there are zero water stations on the course. For being in an area where the heat can really get high, this is super dangerous as evidenced by the unfortunate event that happened there yesterday, so pack as much water as your bag can fit!

All that being said, the staff was very kind and informative during check-in but we had a really tough time figuring out where to the clubhouse was and tee off. And the range is in a different part of the campus so give yourself ample time before your round to figure all of this out. I think the wayfinding for the course can be improved.

But for what you pay here, I think the course is more than worth it, and each round you play the IKE course your score will improve.
