The ranch-style Pala Mesa Resort in Fallbrook is just minutes away from Temecula wine country. All 132 rooms have either been renovated or will be soon. A heated outdoor pool, four lighted tennis courts and fitness room are available to guests. The golf course starts out narrow but gets more scenic with more elevation changes later in the round.Facts

VIP (very inconsiderate people)
Club manager/starter decided to “insert” an extra tee time for VIPs just before my twosome. This created a 5 minute gap ONLY between tee times before and after this VIP foursome. Take note that this VIP 4some couldn’t even keep up with the elderly 4some in the front of them. VIPs also took their time at the turn. Pace of play was so dreadful that my single partner quit after the 15th hole. Otherwise the course is coming along quite nicely especially the fairways; inconsistent greens with visible recovering patchy areas; tee boxes and bunkers need work still. Don’t be a later group as you will have to wait for incoming carts!

Overpriced if you have a rider
I brought my 6 year old with me and had played here 3 other times with him and it was great (no fee). This time I was informed I had to pay a $25 rider fee. which I did since we were stuck (came from Carlsbad)
I'll pay a $10 fee or something but $25 is ridiculous. I won't come back unless this changes. Way nicer courses charge $10 for a rider! Over the top and we already were paying $70. Not worth it!

Loved Pala Masa
The layout was fun, challenging and had a good variety! The setting in the hills gave a spectacular view of the surrounding countryside.
The staff were exceptionally helpful.
