The ranch-style Pala Mesa Resort in Fallbrook is just minutes away from Temecula wine country. All 132 rooms have either been renovated or will be soon. A heated outdoor pool, four lighted tennis courts and fitness room are available to guests. The golf course starts out narrow but gets more scenic with more elevation changes later in the round.Facts

This Diamond is Worth the little drive
Not only could I book a tee time the next day but the conditions were better than MOST courses in/around San Diego (excluding Torrey and Madera), prices were better, staff was amazing, courses had a lot of challenges right in front of you and is NOW one of my favorite local courses.

Not worth the price
Course condition was decent at best pace of play was a joke called the pro shop 4 times because the group in front of was 2 holes behind and wouldn’t let anyone play thru not even a single player who we let join our group No response from the course 61/2 hour round. Won’t wast my money here again. Course constantly plays slow because they have no marshals

Course was in very good shape. Great service in the Pro Shop. I played with a newcomer and encouraged him to return for another round.

Ok course
Greens are nice, Fairways need water, Ladies tee boxes are horrible, men’s tee boxes need work. Nice layout, course could be nice if it had water.

Resort Course still feeling effects of weather
For a resort course, I was happy to find this at a significantly discounted rate. There were definitely patchy areas in the fairway along side some overwatered/muddy areas (which lead to some undesirable lies and hidden difficulty), so sometimes what should have been a good drive was not rewarded. Also, a lot of the tee grounds were sloped, so it was a little difficult to find a level stance - something the course needs to address sometime soon.

Cart Path Only
Understand what they are doing, but annoying that so many holes were cart path only. Additionally, sometimes, cart path only without any warning until our cart shut off forward movement. Many fairways burn out and they are trying to recover and I can see the recovery happening. Tee boxes were terrible, and sometimes we even avoided them to hit behind or to the side. Expecting in a few weeks, that conditions will be great, but for now, not good.

Great place to play. Very green, greens very nice. Great french fries in the restaurant.

Much Improved
Last time I played here I was underwhelmed by the condition of the course, particularly the greens. My round on 6/25/21 was a much more pleasant experience. While not perfect, the greens were in very good shape and the all around course conditions were excellent. The scenery and views on the back nine are worth the price of admission.

Great course
Awesome course. Front nine greens a little bumpy. Back nine greens excellent. Green grass everywhere! Front nine pace was a little slow. Can’t wait to play this course again.

Unpredictable Greens
Greens look like a patchwork quilt and are bumpy and difficult to read. Hose sprinkler on almost every hole that you had to hit through or get your ball away from.
Unnecessarily difficult due to the above.

Fairways were in good shape. Greens and tee boxes could use some work. Course was average and a little over priced.

Course is a challenge
The course is a really fun challenge, and in better shape than the Spring. but the pace of play is slow and too many golfers trying to play from the black tips who shouldn’t be make the pace worse.

This course was great
This course was great. Larry the Marshall was ready for us at the early tee time and gave us a quick rundown of the course. The course was very challenging but open enough fairways to keep it fun for beginners. I will be coming back

Fun Round but had to wait.
Hole 1-4 we played pretty fast. No one in front of us. Caught up to twosome on hole 5 they had threesome in front of them. Waited on every hole for remainder of the round.
Greens were okay. Some fairways were pretty desolate.
