1st Timer
Happy to have played Aviara as I live across the street. For the hefty price I'm not sure I'll be a repeat client with so many comparable courses nearby that cost 1/3rd the price. But it definitely has the best pace of play I've seen. The bunkers - which are plentiful and a key aspect of the layout - appeared okay but in actuality had hard packed sand and were not worthy of the price tag.
Great staff, beautiful course
This was my first time playing here. The course is beautiful and the staff was great. I am a beginner so it was a challenge, but not overly challenging. I would recommend this course to my friends.
Great golf course
Very friendly at pro shop and out on the course. Greens were very nice. Would definitely recommend if you are in the San Diego area
Overpriced
When u pay $200+ for a round of golf u expect for the course conditions to be top shelf. These r not. Greens were average (rolling at an 8-9.5 at best) rough spots on tee boxes & fairways, with some still having punch marks. Should be a lot lower in pricing.
Aviara
Played Aviara several times over the past seven years and with the exception of 3/4 weeks every spring I always find the course in fairly poor condition for the price and the hype. I usually play in the twilight rate because it's lower price. Started on the first hole with several burnouts on the green. I must say that after that the conditions were better than average for summertime during past years. Bunkers were good, tees were good, fairways decent, greens for the most part were good but very bumpy. The roughs I did see an improvement from last summer but not $300 green fee good. I'll continue to play here because it's usually empty and it's convenient but I wish they would fix the conditions.
Overpriced
Fairways and T boxes were great. Greens were not what $280 should get u. Pro said they were rolling from a 10 to an 11.5. My butt. More like 8 or 9. Shame on them. I loved the layout & the beauty of the course but if you r going to charge that kind of money for a round of golf you better make it top notch.
What a gorgeous course!
Loved this course. The condition of the course was excellent! The greens were in great shape! Can’t wait to play it again!
Rates are out of line
This is a nice course but the rates are way out of line. No local respect and no decent rates for locals.
