About Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe
The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe, a AAA Five Diamond resort, is nestled midmountain at the ski-centric Northstar California Resort in Truckee. It is located just six miles from downtown Truckee and a half hour from Lake Tahoe, where the Lake Club is an exclusive beachfront hangout with paddleboarding, kayaks and food and drinks included in the daily fee. The Backyard Bar & BBQ and Manzanita, the signature restaurant, serve up tasty fare. A gondola ride from the 170-room hotel leads to the Northstar ski village, which bustles with restaurants, mini-golf, festivals and skating in the summer. The resort offers golf packages to two adjacent courses 12 miles away - the Golf Club at Gray's Crossing and Old Greenwood, site of the PGA Tour's 2020 Barracuda Championship.Facts

Great conditioning with terrific greens.
Golf course was great. Slow foursome and a fifth walking non playing person were at least a full hole behind by the turn and 2 holes behind by the end. The grumpy and borderline rude course marshall chewed us out for waiting for a driveable par 4 to clear before teeing off even though we had waited literally every shot. The starter chewed us out for not being on the first tee at 7:27 even though our time was 7:40. He did later apologize as the 7:30 group drove up at exactly 7:30. Fire, ready, aim?
Over expectations
Getting for PGA event…Pro shop staff inattentive…my first time…rented clubs..I got a cart with no GPS…no ice…no direction…play was so slow due to cart path only(that’s understandable) Greens were not that fast maybe a 11 at best and very spotty ….very small venue compared to other PGA event I’ve been to….looking forward to watching the TV coverage…
Disappointed
I am disappointed that it’s cart path only, with the amount of money I paid, it’s not worth it! If ever and whatever the reason is, you or they should announce that it’s cart path only so at least we know if we still want to do it!
Old Greenwood
This was my first time playing at Old Greenwood and it definitely will not be my last. The staff was very friendly from the bag drop off receiver, cashier, starter and Marshall.
The warm up and driving range areas were fantastic! Reminds me of Shadow Ridge in Palm Desert with anything and everything that you need to get you ready for the game.
The course was challenging with some tough pin placements, but the fairways were forgiving when you hit them. The views around the course were fantastic and I enjoyed the course lay out.
Fun and Challenging course!
Great course. Pristine condition. Active maintenance crews on the track. Some members maximizing the 4.5 hour pace…
Great Mountain course
The course was in great shape and challenging.
A must play when in Tahoe/ Truckee area
. Hard golf course.
If you’re up to a very challenging golf course, it would be the place. I am a two handicap and I didn’t find it to be very much fun. I like the opportunity to score when I hit good shots.
Fun Track
Loved the architecture on a lot of the houses around the course. Felt it was fairly tough but not crazy. Good conditions. Played it very early in the morning and it was quite cool to start. Played 10 courses in the area over 6 days and would put this one somewhere in the middle.
Play where the pros play
Played this one a couple days after the PGA event. I was amazed at how much they had already torn out in just a few days. The course was lush and beautiful. A fun layout. The rough was still insanely thick from the PGA event (congrats Akshay). The clubhouse is getting renovations done and the grill was closed so we had to eat from a super overpriced food truck out front. Definitely a must play if you are in the area. Great logo and great gear in the clubhouse as well.
Amazing and a great value
I truly don’t know about humanities I played rather late
Pace of Play
Wonder why I was waiting 20 mins on the 12th tee. At one point there were 4 groups on the tee box. Apparently there was an 8-some ahead slowing the pace to a crawl.
Course was good but slightly overpriced due to it hosting a PGA event. Staff was great. Probably won’t play it again due to the pace of play issue.
